My reservoir spewed its contents today. Seems that the retaining washer (copper) inside the bottle gave up and the pump assy came loose. Any sources for said washer? Also, I found a corroded black rubby stopper assy inside that I asssume is the sensor for the idiot light. Don't really care if that's not available but if it is, I suppose it should be put right. Any leads on said parts?

    Russ,

I had the pump assy leaking too
Repaired it by using silicone sealant
Has been fine for the last 2 yrs

Only available as a complete unit (not including level sensor though)
Under 100$ at eurospares so that is an option too

The broken retaining washer is called a "biting washer" aka a "push nut" ... it's made of some kind of copper or perhaps brass alloy .... it holds the pump in place. I am going to try to make one, as while this is a common hardware item, it is not available in this large diameter.

    Russ.

I had to repair one a Mondial some time ago.

I looked at washer pumps on eBay until I found a similar looking pump. I think it was a Chrysler type that matched the best. There were several that seemed to look the same.

I then bought a new pump locally and replaced the pump in the reservoir. The pump type/design is fairly universal.

There are also repair kits available on eBay.

The float is for the warning light. I found one on eBay.

There was also a new tank w/pump on eBay a while back. Looked the same, but listed for a F40 or something.

    Good luck.
