My 360 Spider is starting to pop up the windshield vents and at a show in Chicago this past weekend I noticed that all the other 360's had the vents venting the air in a parallel fashion to the window. In other words the vents were in a little valley. Now my '05 360 spider has the vents flat on the top side of the dash blowing air directly at the windshield - no valley.
I know my car may be newer then the other 360's and maybe they made a change but when I look at a 430 it's vent is in the little gully facing parallel to the windshield.
So, am I nuts or could have someone changed my dash? Or could of Ferrari made a mistake?

I got some excellent metal vents from Rizzo here. I am having my dash redone right now and these will go in. It looks like a perfect solution to this ridiculous problem.

Take a close look at them. Yes, it is a Ferrari "mistake" as the glue has failed and the leather has shrunk thus the vents have popped up. The solution is described by Sherpa.

Are the vents loose or are they just different? They may have already been replaced if they are not loose. If they are loose, get ready to spend $5K on new dash leather.

Having same issue with my car. Does the dash need to come out to replace? Seems like very little space to move near the bottom of the windshield.

I believe I've seen Rizzos fix, so maybe a bolt and small wrench can be used?

to answer questions: Yes the vents are popped out. But the dash doesn't have any ripples other than the airbag cover. The small vents are ok but sticky - so are the large ones. The front a/c vents are ok. I'll get some pics tonight of the vents but the dash cover near the windshield vents is flat there's no gully where the vents fit into - think about a cross cut of the vent area and the gully would look something like a more pronounced "V". I did see that someone made a aluminum vent and that might be the way to go if I could attach it somehow. My dash cover is perfectly flat! Other than the vents I don't have that bad of a problem. Not planning on 5k right now.

Mine was perfectly flat on the dash cover with only a small amount of wrinkling around the airbag, which is far from the dash vents. I think that the vents themselves warp over time and the tabs break from the pressure of the warpage.

As I mentioned, I am getting my dash recovered and I'll put in Rizzo's vents. I'll post pics when it's done.

So, what I was trying to explain is that my vents don't fit in a gully like all of the other 360's I saw at the show. Please see my pics. The vents are popped up but what I'm concern about is why is the top of my dash so different then everyone else's? Someone said that maybe my dash "gully" is popped up but that's not possible - look at the way it's flat even with the rest of the dash. Sorry about the tree reflection didn't notice it.

That's how mine looks, I believe it's becaus the leather is stretched in that area, causing the vent to pop out of place.

How does the vent attach to the dash? Based on the Ricambi picture, 96 pops in? Or does it screw in? How does the aftermarket attach?

leather shrinks and pulls the vents up. Mine is same way. happens to many cars in the hot sun.

I know what you guys are saying but damn I wish I took a picture of those other 360's! Yes the left vent is loose - not connected. But if you notice the leather directly below the vent - about 2-3 inches wide - it's flat equal to the top of the dash and sewn perfectly. No way could that have popped up. But all of the other 360's I saw had that 2 -3 inch piece of leather look like a gully where the vent was blowing on an angle or air would be parallel to the glass.

The A/market vents are bolted into place and once fixed in place the leather will never lift again if your vents have popped then the leather on the dash will need to replaced there's no way of stretching the old leather back into place unfortunately it's dead. Here is my dash with new leather and new vents.

Looks like the leather around the vents has dried and shrunk that much that it's levelled out with the main part of the dash, there will be a gully under there where the vents sit.

My dash being stripped down. You can see how the sponge that's glued to the leather then glued to the dash shell has started breaking down.

Rizzo can the aftermarket be installed with the dash in the car?

Rizzo, Now, I get what you're saying. All of the leather in the gully flattened out! When I purchased the car the PPI guys told me that the vents were sticky but I had no idea about the dash being like that. Yours looks really great but why did you put the glove box on the wrong side? HA! Have a great day. Did you take everything apart? Ferrari really f'd up with this sticky stuff!

When I bought my car she was in need of a bit of TLC. The dash was in bad shape couldn't bare to look at it lots of bubbles and vents all warped and popped engine bay panels all chalky and faded. I know the belts and bearing hadn't been replace that was a worry I think I put 100 khs on her then drove it into my garage started stripping her, yeah! my mate's say i got a wee bit carried away u no the drill while im in there I may as well do that and then may as well do that yada! yada! and before u no it 12 months has pasted u by but I can say I absolutely enjoyed working on the car every minute of it. I agree Ferrari definitely fkd up sticky sh#t, pissss week variators, cheap ass headers, etc! ect!. My car pretty much got it to where I want it I just need the CS side skirts and then next yr i'll upgrade the brakes to 380 mm all round.

I bought from Rizzo and his vents are perfect in fit and finish. I will be installing them this winter.

One thing I did with the metal vents was to chamfer the holes and use countersink socket screws for a cleaner install.

Harry Potter's wand? I'm kidding but I'm pretty upset about this stuff. I have been contemplating buying the vents from Rizzo & then removing the windshield to install them. I thought I read somewhere that someone did that.

Let me know if you go that route, would be good to know how difficult it is from up op, seems pretty easy.

Although I hear the windshield Ia $5k to replace!!
