I've never thought about tinting the windows on my 308 because it's a GTS and usually driven top off/windows down. But the Mondial is a more useful car. There is a bunch of glass and tinted windows would certainly help keep it cooler. But there is also the originality to contend with. So what's the general opinion on tinting the windows?

    Thanks.

Even though the top of my windshield is tinted glass I still had a small piece put on at the top. It makes it look more cool. But on the rest of the windows I would pass. Just my 3 cents.

My 3.2 Coupe already had tinted windows when I bought it and, in my opinion, suits this black car well.

And while the big greenhouse has almost no blind spots (better than any closed car that I've owned) the downside is the effect from the Southern sun's intensity, year-round, on the interior. So tinted windows certainly helps with that.

Thanks for the pic. Looks great.
I've been going back and forth on tint. Originality vs. practicality. They say that its reversible but I worry about damaging the old glass.

Of course! But just a bit. Plus the Orbiter's windows are very thick which improves thermal efficiency. Coated as well... for starters.

    Thanks

My concern regarding the film's removal is not so much for the glass but any collateral damage that may occur during this process.

No experience with steamers but it seems to be safer than the old way (razors).

I had a FRS last year and it came with a horrible tint job from the dealer. I had it removed and retinted with a higher quality tint by a local shop. He had no trouble removing the old tint.

tint is easily removed wont hurt the glass

    btw
if you use the ceramic or metalized film you can go with the lightest color over the whole front windshield and cut the greenhouse tremendouslyand its not noticeable - did this on my DeLorean

a cat bypass dramatically reduces the heat as well!

you can always take off the tint! plus it will help keep the damaging UV rays out !

a steamer can take it off with the glue in minutes..

I used a wallpaper steamer to remove a wrap. It worked great.
