As I was wandering in a recently bought book I stumbled across a 328 conversion by Willy Koenig (http://www.koenig-specials.com/). Didn't know that the body conversions of these cars were done by Strosek. Then I remembered the calendar I used to have with his creations when I was about 15, ie Jaguar XJS, MB 107 R, Ferrari 328, 512 BBi etc.

Mostly I don't like tuned Ferrari's. You shouldn't try to perfect the perfect car (well that is with an exception for sound regulation offers Ferrari had to make) .

How do you think about Koenig's creations? Ever driven one? Pictures? My impression from the website is that the company is past its peak, is that right?

I hate to admit that, in a strange way, I quite like the Koenig 328.

To be honest I never really liked the Koenig body conversions... they always seemed to be a bit over the top to me. Like you said yourself... it's hard trying to improve a design that is allready close to perfection...

But off course, there will always be a market for people who want their car to be different from a "regular" one... nothing wrong with that...
The increase of hp and downforce always has been very intresting :)
