I think him and George will get on very well together.

Interesting move by Williams. Shows that the patient is alive and kicking.

I think the appointment of Jost Capito as CEO of Williams GP will be more significant for the team than any contribution from Jenson Button.

Jost Capito has F1 experience at Sauber, worked for BMW and Ford and was behind Volkswagen's several .World Rally Championships

He has engineering and managerial background, and could lead a Williams revival.

At most Button will be a driver's coach for Latifi; I doubt if Russell will take much lesson from him!

Possibly but Russell should be open to learning from JB. Overall with the new management and a driver coach as JB Im pleased if Williams with the Mercedes PU move forward. We should see improvement yes?

According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport" inItaly, Williams is set to become Alpine's junior team starting 2022.
My, how the mighty have fallen...maybe it was inevitable, but if confirmed, this would sadden me a lot. Always was a great fan of Frank and his team.

It now appears that Renault was looking for another customer team since McLaren announced they would have Mercedes engines.
From totally unconfirmed source at Renault (but not inside Renault F1), I was told that Abiteboul contacted Haas during last year to see if the team would be interested in becoming a Renault B team. Gene Hass had expressed his frustration with F1, and even mentioned leaving at the time.
Months later, we hear that both drivers (Grosjean and Magnussen) are sacked, and that Haas will become Ferrari junior team.
Until then, it was assumed that Sauber/Alfa would be prefered to the US team in that role.
My source speculated that maybe it would be Sauber that would perhaps receive Renault engines in 2022.
It's quite a surprise to hear that now it could be Williams. Of course, everybody knows that Williams and Renault cooperated quite successfully in the past.

Yes. I felt similarly when Colin Chapman passed. I knew it was over for Lotus.

When Enzo Ferrari passed away, I knew his company and his team would be different.
I can't say I have liked what I have seen at Maranello since that day.

Russell: No promises made by Mercedes over 2022 F1 seat
    By: Luke Smith

George Russell says “no promises have been made” over a Mercedes Formula 1 seat for 2022, and that his focus lies entirely with Williams ahead of the new season.

Quiet day. Nobody is talking about the hideous new livery on the Williams.
