Theoretically, shouldn't 0-wXX oil ALWAYS be better at start up in a cold engine than 5-, 10- 15- etc?

It seems Porsche changed their minds about this a while back, and now recommends 0-wXX for all cars, past and present despite the owners manual calling for 10-w30 etc.

Doc, this should have been posted in "Technical Q&A" AEHaas has a whole series of posts covering this topic. Look for his "Motor Oil" series.
