4th year with this. Bought at 20% savings during a sale. My 5 y/o granddaughter can lift it easily with one hand. Weighs < 5 lbs. For the naysayers this is a liFe (lithium iron) and not at risk for spontaneous combustion like those lico (lithium cobalt) batteries on the Boeing 777. https://shop.antigravitybatteries.com/products/starter-batteries/automotive/rs-30/ Had interstate and red optima. Neither tolerated accidental discharge. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Just in case anyone cares this is a good review of different types of lithium ion batteries. http://synergyfiles.com/2015/09/5-types-of-lithium-ion-batteries/ Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I perfer Interstate Batteries AGM type. Three reasons, one i’ve had great luck on longevity, great customer service, at least in my home town, and three Interstate is all over the USA.
I think the AGM (Interstate or other) is fine for these cars. The weight is low in the car, under the passenger footwell, and sprung weight, so any weight reduction will have minimal influence. Porsches mount their batteries high on the cowl, just under the windshield, and while that weigh is also sprung, reduction can have more influence because it’s up higher. I didn’t go li-ion because of weight, although maneuvering it is so much easier. I was about to get my 3rd battery(original interstate < 1 year after purchase of car, new red optima-2 years). Priced The interstate “matrix” battery was like 250. The antigravity is expected to outlive conventional batteries so gave it a try. I like the built in safety relay, cuts out if charge goes low to still allow a reset and a start, so should never need to jump it and it won’t fully discharge. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
