Every time I channel surf and run across Officer John Bunnell on Worlds Wildest Police Chases (Spike TV), I just want to puke! I find listening to him 100% annoying. How did this guy get so far? The footage is great, but a different host (IMO) would be extremely welcome to boost the shows ratings. I just can't stand listening to this guy...Am I alone here?

He is kinda annoying, "The officer keeps up with the little car as they hurl down rush hour traffic".."moments later, the unthinkable happens"

Its a BLASTED POLICE CHASE! What else do you think is going to happen????
I tune him out, and just watch to see what happens next.

I hate it when he is so melodramatic..."watch again (for the 5th time) as the rampant Range Rover swings wildly out of control and then rams the helpless grandmother who goes hurling precariously toward the granite capped layer of the earth's stalagtite layer, not unlike an errant Soviet gymnast, forever disrupting the gentle desert ecosystem."

he wouldn't be there if we didn't watch....

If you ever get the OLD C.O.P.s reruns he was on there with his drug enforcement team back when he was a real sheriff, pretty ballsy stuff but you could tell he had a "Eye" for the camera. Nothing wrong with that he has made enough from this stuff for his own F car (and then some)

Jerry: You hit the nail on the head for me. I rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than listen to this guy!

He annoys me because I'm usually rooting for the "badguy." And all Bunnell can do is talk about how dangerous they are and how great the cops for sticking with the perp until he flies off a bridge or nails a semi at 120 MPH. Just let them go for once!

It's pretty bad when we can't stand a cop this bad and root for the felon!

    Your hero's quotes:

"In this case it was out of the frying pan, into the jail cell"

"He makes a mad dash for the exit, but this cop's wits are faster than him"

"Before parking behind that dump truck, make sure that DUMP truck driver isn't a DUMB truck driver"

"This joyrider thought he was going to have a swell ride... but all he got was a short ride in the back of a cruiser to jail"

"Suspects out of control, out of options... OUT OF THEIR MIND! These punks have just bought themselves a one-way ticket... STRAIGHT TO THE STATE PENITENTIARY!"

Back when the show "Cops" was brand new, the show initially focused on him and his particular precinct or city somewhere in the NW (Portland, I think ? ) I could be wrong, but I think the first year or so was just him and his own officers. Once the show became popular, I suspect that he saw the potential to fatten his wallet and retired to focus on what he's doing now. Obviously, he's not on Cops any more unless you catch reruns of some of the very early shows.

He was good in COPS because he had limited exposer and was different in his mannerism. With the new show, he took on more of a cop/DJ ora in his personality where he took on an annoying vernacular in describing actions that were going on.
