A few guys in the US have tried them - better than QA-1s, but more expensive

If your primary objective is the ride hight, why don't you just change the springs ? There are millions of different stiffness/lengths. Good OEM Koni's perform rather well for just street use. Bear in mind that with "regular" street use you have to be an above-average driver and even drive "above-average", in order to really benefit from adjustable shocks/suspension. Goodies like "big brakes" and adjustable suspension prove their value on the track. Stock 308's perform perfectly well for the occasional trackday. Serious "trackday driving" is a totally different ballgame and incorporates a lot more than just some adjustable shocks. Fitting other suspension parts when only using the car on the public roads have quite an influence on the ride quality, not nessesary an improved influence. Ask me how I know ! ;-)

 

That's a good one. I had a set of Intrax shocks fitted about a century ago, the Koni's are tucked away on a shelf somewhere.. I would ask the supplier. If you lower the ride hight you would want to use some stiffer springs, I'm shure there are formula's for it and suppliers of springs should be able to advice you spot on !

 

I've had several in depth conversations with Intrax about my 308. They will gather every bit of info they can, i.e. intended use, ride height, track time, etc. and make a custom solution for you that bolts right in. No modifications, no paper weights, no cheap circle track shocks.

I'm just waiting for some extra cash then I'm ordering mine.

I put Wilbers on my 308 GTB QV and they were great. That said, I am a huge believer in Intraxx and have put their stuff on my F40. Many LMs are now running the Intraxx set up as it's the best on the market.

 

Not by much. Last I priced the Wilburs they were $2,399. The Intrax weren't that much more ($300 last i checked) and are considerably better IMO. Also, you don't need a local supplier. Call them up and buy them direct. They bolt right in. Their customer service was great every time I spoke with them.

If you are seeing twice as much you're looking at the 4 way version not the 1k2's.

 

Wilber are highly regarded for BMW moto aftermarket components. Many folks consider them superior to Ohlins which, in that application at least, are often viewed as more about a "name" than components that are better than other good aftermarket brands.

 

In the uk intrax are approx another 1k gbp more than wilbers

 

I ordered a set of Wilbers for my BMW K1200LT years ago, and it took a long time, mostly because they asked so many questions (I wanted very firm racing springs, and they asked several times to make sure that's what I really wanted lol), and they were super expensive, but they turned that comfy touring bike into an 800 pound sport bike. I would not hesitate getting a set for my 308 if I needed them.

I had Wilbers on my 308. You can adjust the ride height. Don't know how much, I never did it myself. When you order the shocks they ask what kind of preset you want.

Personally I liked them very much.
