[ATTACH] Anyone have an idea what it's out of?
From what I know, it isn't from a Boeing Model 80. Maybe it is from ahold Ford Tri Motor. Certainly not from a 247.
I rode in a trimotor back in the early 90s that had its original wicker seats but they didn't look like this.
Have you looked under the seat for a manufacturers card. I have an old wicker piece that had one affixed to the frame. You might try and research the history of this company to see if it’s anything of theirs. I just looked through an old catalog no. 7 online and did not see one of a similar style. http://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/cgi-bin/WI/WI-idx?type=article&did=WI.SHEBEMIS.I0001&id=WI.SheBemis&isize=M The Bemis-Riddell Fibre Company
Airship seat was my first guess. Here's an interior image from Defender Goodyear. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Goodyear airship would make sense- the angle of the backrest would be super uncomfortable on the ground in a taildragger. This seat came out of northeast Ohio.
I just have to say...you guys are so great! The way questions and problems get solved...amazing. Good on ya!
