    Pope to get a Ferrari

    Ferrari bosses are to give the Pope a £250,000 special edition racing car to celebrate his 26 years as pontiff.

    Chief Luca Cordero di Montezemolo revealed the plan at a meeting with Vatican officials reports The Sun.

    He said: "We're preparing a special red Formula One car for him."

    Pope John Paul, 84, was elected head of the Roman Catholic Church on October 16, 1978.

    It's honorary, mostly.

    He is a fan of the team, having visited the factory earlier when the F1 Team's fortunes were not so good, so now Luca wants to do something special.

    I do not think his health is good, at this time.

    The Dallas Morning News this morning reports that it will be a 1:5 scale model of the F2004.

    Why is the Pope getting a Ferrari? History has shown that many great artists have gifted masterpieces to the Vatican. Scuderia Ferrari have certainly created a "masterpiece."
