For a sports car utilizing a myriad of F1 technology, I would expect the Enzo to weigh in at much less than 3,020 lbs. What is the reason for that?

Unfortunately with road and safety regulations as they are - there's no way to create an F40 in today's world.

Look at the weight of a Pagani Zonda, pretty close to the weight of a F40.

Yeah but the Zonda isn't exactly "road legal" for the States.

Doesn't Wyclef drive his around Florida often? How much weight did he have to add in safety crap to bring it up to spec?

Zonda is not U.S. legal. Thye will be in the future if the company doesnt go out of business. I spoke to sales team in Italy in regards to this

The Zonda is roal legal as long as it's registered under Show & Display. If it's not on the list, you can fill out a form explaining why it should be permitted with such things as low production numbers, has a place in history, 1st of production, etc. If it qualifies, I believe it only has to meet EPA standards and then you're allowed to drive it 2,500 miles a year. The miles are supposedly only for traveling to events displaying similar cars as your own, but I don't think they'd be that strict or be able to find out.

I believe the Enzo is heavy because it is a rather large car when compared to other lightweights. There were some pictures of that orange McLaren F1 and an Enzo (owned by the same guy) on a track next to each other. The Enzo was a lot wider and larger!

Factor in all the driver electronics aids and other electronics. I am sure that adds to the weight.

Though i don't know diddly squat about McLarens, i'm pretty sure that's Kennedy's... There was a show in which his McLaren was featured, not too long ago, so i would guess that he still owns it...

...why, are you getting tired of the Maranello...? :)

Yes, that's the one! Thanks for finding it, I tried searching yesterday, but to no avail. I have both 1:18 Enzo and McLaren models and everyone who sees them (they're placed next to each other) doesn't believe the McLaren is 1:18, haha. If they ever see these pictures, they'll actually believe me when I say how small the F1 actually is. Thanks again for the pics.
