Yeah, what is it that makes you so passionate about your car - Ferrari owners only please!
Very difficult to describe why... For me mainly love the look, the feel, the drive, the sound,.... then, the look again, the name, the history, the feel, rare, team, racing heritage, especially the drive but more of the look though, I don't know.... Oh, the look!!!... drop dead gorgeous look..... imagine a young beautyful woman who can never grow old and you can make her over to be as fresh as the day she came about...
Is it only Ferrari owners that have the passion? I think not. The passion that you feel owning, seeing or being the wheel of a Ferrari is something that, usually, starts at a very early age and culminates in ownership (or multiple ownership, in some cases). Whether its the fact that you get off on people admiring the car or the fact you love the sound of the engine driving full out, or the Italian passion and history that has formed the cars in to what they are, it doenst matter....owner, prospective owner, never-going-to-be-an-owner, makes no odds. Anyway, I'd say the history, the fact their built by passionate people, the fact their often owned by passionate poeple and, arguably, the fact that many see them (rightly or wrongly) as the pinnicle of motoring. All the best Jamie
SPOT ON!!! I agree with you 110% i have loved Ferrari for as long as i can remember, i dont own one yet, but i know i will shortly.
simple one really, just do! No other make invokes the emotion of a ferrari, any ferrari. I guess thats where the germans have it all wrong, sure they make amazing cars but souless, no emotion.
I wouldnt agree with you about German cars being souless, its too much of a generalisation, there is a feling about driving a Ferrari that is difficult to quantify or express in words, but a lot of it is mechanical, the engine for example feels and sounds totally different, but so does a porsche flat six. I guess one way of saying whats special is that the ferrari amounts to something far greater than the sum of its parts. Steve
take your point, perhaps clinical is a better word, totally agree that the sum is far greater than the parts with an f-car, thats why we love em!
Power and beauty. With the V12 monster growling in the back with the level 2 sports exhaust, its heaven.
Well aside from just being beautiful works of art, it's especially the feeling of the history associated with them. I have an '84 308, many of my friends have newer Porsches, Lambos, etc, but when people see my car it's almost like it has a special aura even though its not the fastest car around anymore, but it is a Ferrari.
ufo seems to be the UK Forum's pet troll. They let him out every few weeks, feed and pet him, then ban him when he's not fun anymore ... Image Unavailable, Please Login
The way I see it, cars are like women. A Ferrari is like a top model - leggy, dazzling, a pin up, and every mans dream. The M3 is like Margaret Thatcher - rules the world one minute and can cook a decent meal in the kitchen the next! Life is too short for cars of occassional use.
For £20k I dont think you can buy a better car than an M3. Sadly, every man has one, but thats about the only drawback.
