Considering the injuries to the two extras, "woops" is not a word I would use. That shoot just got real expensive.
WOW...that was just plain careless. I hope nobody was seriously injured. They person under the light pole looked to be in pain.
It was a stunt driver from a new nicolas cage film called The Sorcerer's Apprentice according to jalopnik http://jalopnik.com/5239332/nicolas-cage-stunt-driver-wrecks-ferrari-in-times-square?skyline=true&s=i
One injured was not an extra or associated in any way. She'll get a lot more than a free pass before its over. Neither injured was hurt too badly, so we can all feel less guilty about laughing.
That's the end of any chase scene being filmed on location in Times Square-- if not all of NYC. Terribly bad publicity..
I hope this is not a repost. a stunt driver lost control on wet roads and crashed a f430 into the sidewalk injuring two pedestrians who were not part of the movie. i shall refrain from commenting on driver skill etc because talk is CHEAP. having recognized that, i would have held it HAHAa (kidding) http://jalopnik.com/5239332/nicolas-cage-stunt-driver-wrecks-ferrari-in-times-square?skyline=true&s=x
Stunt driver or not, that looked like an accident waiting to happen IMO. Sometimes the roads are just too slippery. . . Glad everyone was okay.
As someone stated in another thread re: this crash, they most likely had water trucks come and spray down the road in front of the shoot as when you're filming, if you don't water down the pavement, it appears gray.
The driver is shifting weight left and right, you can just see it coming. Never should this be done unless it is a 4WD, or you have a pre-planned spin zone with escape area. That last zigzag was way too large with the throttle full on like that.
