Maybe he isn't. None the less, Jim Chalmers is is the Federal Treasurer. Here is his educational background: Chalmers grew up in Logan City in Brisbane's south. He attended Catholic schools before going on to Griffith University, where he completed the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Communication. He went on to complete a PhD in political science at the Australian National University, writing his doctoral thesis on the prime ministership of Paul Keating, titled "Brawler statesman: Paul Keating and prime ministerial leadership in Australia". Can anywhom explain how the above qualifications equip Mr. Chalmers to be Federal Treasurer?
Leave him alone,he knows what he's doing.................................................................. .........................to everybody in the country.....
It doesn’t. And he shows it. The caliber of politicians is pathetic. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I don’t think we’ve ever had a ‘financial’ person as treasurer - Peter Costello (longest serving) was (like the majority of pollies) a lawyer.
I remember the first time I went into the toilets at Sydney Uni - above the toilet roll holder was written "Arts degrees, please take one".
Yes, my experience of working with politicians from both sides is that they're people of very average ability, often with borderline personality disorders. We all pay the price for this, literally and figuratively. Those who become "political animals" at Uni go on to become part of the system. We need a grassroots campaign to impose 3-term limits on all politicians, which will force party selectors to open the gates for a broader range of people. Kim Beasley's quote in 1992 says it all "When I joined the Labor Party it was made up of the cream of the working-class. When I left it was made up of the dregs of the middle-class."
Arts degree is that a degree that were you are taught how to draw and earn say 50k p.a .I Went to school with Peter C and have met him often since ,a steps up the ladder over Chalmers..Peter was the treasurer whom of course ended the loan accounts system re business profit and tax.Meaning you have a business say profit of 300k for the year ,No tax payable just a loan account that is never paid back, now of course such tax avoidance no longer is available
We can thank to a degree Whitlam and all these useless Uni free courses in which working class people learnt how to bicker and argue about F.all
