In researching the type 57C Van Vooren ex-Shah of Iran cabriolet in the Petersen Museum I came across a ref. to a Captain Wilson being one of the early owners after the Shah. Then when I went to the BugattiPage.com there's a picture of a bloke identified as Capt. Wilson wearing an Army uniform standing in front of a Bugatti Stelvio Typ 57 with blackout headlights and German plates, which one person speculates was taken during the war because of the headlights. So I was wondering if this is the same Captain Wilson? Then there;s a third Wilson, Dudley C. Wilson, in Florida who once owned a Bugatti Royale in the early '50s. Are these all the same Captain Wilson? I don't know enough Iranian history to know if the US armed forces were there in the 1959 when the Shah reportedly sold it for $275. Was he a famous early Bugatti collector before the prices went up?
