I'd like to see Button or Di Resta. How about a one off from JV?:)

I believe it will be Esteban Gutierrez or Stoffel Vandoorne, but Hulkenburg has also been mentioned. The Hulk would absolutely be my pick, was very sad he didn't get a seat and never had a competitive car. Very good driver.

The Hulk obviously, he has the experience and is available on short notice.

    The only realistic candidate.

I really hope the HULK and puts it on the podium. Sometimes time off and away gives one space to come back and show what they are really made of and I hope Nico gets that shot. Certainly has the speed but never had the whole package (his fault included) to finish the weekend, give him one solid weekend to close out his career

    Hulk.

Can you imagine he gets podium immediately?

More important than who will replace him for the weekend is the fact that he has put the entire F1 season in jeopardy. Even if he was following the protocols, a slip up occurred at some point, and now if the virus spreads around the team, or outside the team, all bets are off. Saw a photo 2 waeeks ago of Leclerc sitting next to 2 friends and all were mask less. That kind of personal irresponsibility could quickly doom the season that so many have worked so hard to create

No sympathy for Perez at all; apparently he took a private jet back to Mexico to see his Mum who had been ill.

Leclerec is fine providing that the 2 friends are all part of his bubble and not associating with anyone outside it.

    Unbelievable. Seriously.

His mum was in a big accident.

I'll leave it at that before I get banned again.

FFS, this is Covid-19! This is a deadly virus, in case you don't know.

In some countries, people are not allowed to visit relatives, even less in hospital, and are also prevented from attending funerals.

The F1 season is running under strict sanitary precautions, and Perez could have jeopardised his team completely.

The Melbourne GP didn't happen because 1 McLaren team member was found carrying the virus.

Oh please, what an exaggeration: "personal irresponsibility". In relation to Leclerc, there are only 9 active cases in Monaco right now.

In relation to Perez, he might have done all the precations and still got it. That's why F1 is testing everybody.

Not deadly for the age group of F1.

    That's to avoid crowds.
It could have happened to anyone. That's exactly why they are testing everybody. Imagine a few drivers getting a Uber Jet from Monaco to Silverstone but before that the plane captain got Covid. So what? Is it the driver's fault?

As far as I know almost everybody in Mexico is using masks.

False. It didn't happen because local Australian authorithies didn't allow it to go.

There is no age group immune of Covid-19; teenagers have died from it.
Masks are not foolproof. The best precaution against contagion is to avoid travelling, and meeting different people.
In view of what's at stake, I would have thought that everyone in the F1 group understood their responsabilities.
The authorities in Mebourne stopped the GP from happening because of the risk of contagion.

Given the physical fitness of just about everyone in the pit lane and garages (other than the money bosses), I wouldn't think anyone in F1 would have the kinds of "underlying conditions" that would make CV-19 dangerous to 1% of the overall population.

Not a lot of stage IV cancer patients, gross obesity, or lung damaged people in F1.
Not a lot of liver damaged people either (at least since James Hunt left ;)).

It's got nothing to do with either of those things. You should try to understand that.

Well said. Literally this is not rocket science. Stay in the bubble or risk infection. Drivers should be severely punished for leaving the bubble. They dis-respect those working much harder and making far less for their 'Monaco' or other 'breaks' Pathetic. Much effort has been made for them to 'drive'.

But it's ok for you to go shopping, is it?

    Hypocrite then.

The same can be said about your constant flip flopping of your opinion, pending the way the wind blows...

I know Hulk has been selected, but logically, he is the best choice anyhow.

What about Damon Hill though :p

As long as there are checks coming back and the team is ok with it I don’t see any problems leaving.
