well, it’s really too early to tell - I’ve only owned it for a year. I just had the ceramic coat put on, so I’m going to watch it.

Detailer is not for cleaning a vehicle that is genuinely dirty. Detailer is for wiping, not rubbing or scrubbing. If I have to rub off a hardened bug, tree dropping,or bird dropping,I use wax after that has some abrasive in it to remove any scratches in the clearcoat at that spot. I carry a little bottle of detailer in the car and try to remove bugs and droppings before they harden.
That said,I am cleaning my red Audi now with detailer after driving it in a rainstorm last weekend. I don't know what it is made of,but that clearcoat is very hard to scratch or even scuff.

I completely agree, detailing spray is not intended to clean a very dirty car (unless you like swirl marks).

Interesting fact about Audi paint. Unfortunately, In my experience Ferrari and Porsche paint/clearcoat is soft and easily scratched.

I haven't washed my car in many, many years... in the traditional sense.

I drive it only in sunny weather and it gets a spray of final detailer and a soft microfiber after every drive once cool in the garage, then covered with a non fitted car cover/sheet.

Have won three best in shows so I can't be doing too much wrong.

Hate washing my car after a drive on a sunny day but can"t remove brake dust from wheels and wells and messy bug stuff with only Detail spray and Micro towel.

I’ve had my TR for 12 years and have not washed with water ever (on the advise from my mechanic) it seems water is bad for the electric circuits. I only use Zanio detail spray. It looks fantastic and I always get compliments on the paint reflections.

Anytime you wipe or wash your paint you are scratching it. That includes ceramic and PPF. You may not notice it if your finish is not fully detailed but it just does. Better to wash it properly than use detail spray. Watch out for pollen this time of year. Like rubbing sand across your car. No way around a back breaking foam wash, rinse and blow dry. Or use a detailer you trust.

You need to be told that water is bad for electric circuits?

The car has factory PPF from Ferrari on the front parts and ceramic applied on the whole car. These pics were just taken Friday when I washed and then put the car back in the garage. It is dried with an absorbing terry microfiber towel from Adam’s Polishes. The towel is very cool!
