Is there a group of 400i owners looking to replace their Michelin 240/55vr415's?
Coker is producing at the end of the month and I asked about a bulk order. I have 7 full sets on hold (28 tires) and in doing so it brings the cost down for pick up in LA to around $568.00 each. That would be a savings of $100 each tire.

I am in the Los Angeles area and the bulk shipment would come to me here. Pick up would/could occur in around the first or second week of October.

For those that live outside the Los Angeles are or even outside the State, I would presume that the costs savings would only be $60-70 per tire.

Let me know if anyone is interested. They are only producing 50 tires.
    thanks

Coker has them on their site for $621. Fchat members get a (can't remember which) 5 or 10% discount bringing them down to $559 to $590.

Wow, $2,276 for a set of four. Suddenly the economics of switching to 328 wheels, spacers and modern rubber is looking a whole lot better!

If you order them at www.longstonetyres.co.uk they are even cheaper.... They charge 70 euro shipping and you have to pay no taxes.

I ordered 4 of them and payed $1980.-

early, concave 328 wheels are hard to find and very expensive.

it always makes me happy when you make an appearence Jan...still looking forward to 'hooking up' again.

that was a nice solution Jay.

the best solution for a 400i, imho, is a set of Factory 400 15" wheels with either XWX's or the much less expensive, yet very nice, P4000's...

and i've got a set of the 400 15's if anyone wants to discuss them.

Just checked out Longstone Tyres and at the current exchange rate the €1,623.23 quoted is $2,547.15. You were fortunate to buy yours when the dollar was stronger!

For comparison I checked out the the Coker list price. (If you can see the little screen shots). Four tires for $2,484 plus shipping to central Florida of $151.58 for a total of $2,635.58.

Less than $100 difference. If Dave is correct and there is a FerrariChat discount then Coker looks like the better option (at least at the current exchange rate).

Thanks for the feedback.. I tried Longstone and with the exchange its about the same. Did not know Coker gave the discount. its easier to go the simple route of buying new 8x16 rims from t.rutlands and replacing with another tire for about the same as 4 tires from just from Coker. Its around 2688 for purchase and shipping to LA.

Does anyone know what the OEM Ferrari rims are made of? Also, are they cast or forged?
Does anyone know what the aftermarket rims are made of? Are they cast or forged?

As I'm sure you know Brett I agree with you. Since series 1 cars came with 15" wheels it keeps you within the relm of "period correct" and still gives you modern rubber. My P4000's work great on my car.
