I don't own one, but I do like them. I know there's a variant sold in Mexico called the Dinalpin - would be cool to snag one
Easily one of my top five favourite cars. Gorgeous design, no wonder they took off in price over the last few years.
I was at the news stand this afternoon, and one of the magazines (Classic Motorsport?) has an article about someone in California who owns one. Cool looking car!
always was a nice looking car, won in rally a lot too but, a swing axle (like early vw, fixed outboard joints) and an upright 4 at the tail, must have made for some "interesting" road manners notice the rear camber LOL Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gorgeous cars. I´ve always wanted an A110 one but prices have come up quite a bit. The car is light and nimble with a very small engine. Found one relatively cheap with the body panels modified several years ago that I did not buy and regret. Below is the car I would love to own Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are quite a few of them for sale on Anamera. Have a look there to get an idea of asking prices.
There is a Ebay seller who has these cars for sale from time to time, i think they were in the $ 40 K range, , the cars are in Mexico ,These cars on are my list of cars to own , traveling to Mexico to buy a car is something i am not really wanting to do . There was a car in Conn. a few years back that sold i think for $ 25K
This one belongs to an fchatter, jselevan. I had one pass through my hands last year that was a worthless project, and there is a Dinalpin sitting on a Porsche lot in Burbank, early model, pre-contoured fog lamps. I love this car so much, I have no words to describe it. I think that's more realistic (although I would say that, since I have one!) Also, I think people might be confusing prices with dinalpine prices-the most valuable cars are the original alpines, assembled in dieppe, France.. I have to say, even though I have a tiny 120bhp 4 cylinder engine, it makes the most fantastic sound!
Interesting you guys know about this car. Its is only a 4 cyl after all. I recall watching them in the "hills race" rallies. What do you think about the A310 v6 then? I have been toying getting an Alpine and bring it here in 2007 but then, times got tough. I though that the a110 is REALLY expensive for what you actually get mechanically. I belevie it is becaase it is highly popular in europe due to the race background.
It's no different than a Stratos for me. Both just awesome cars. I don't care about power in cars. I care about history/heritage and the A110's are both beatiful and they have that history. Love em. I own too many cars now so adding one would put me in the Hangar with it.....I'll live vicariously thru Phil
Lol! I'm on a bloody island with nothing but my iPhone, so I can't post until end of week..but I'll show you! (shakes his fist out the window)
I'm with you all the way ! (then again, I own a stratos too, so I'm biased) It's not about how much horsepower or cylinders for me, but design, history, driving experience, and of course, My own proustian (not to get too much up my own arse) childhood connection to the cars I own-as in all the cars I watched on tv/read about as a kid in England.. Ps-I saw your hanger in another thread-very impressive!
