Any Bosch service center can clean and provide the rings/seals. At least that's what Tim Stanford did on my first 328.

If you install new ones, don't mix them with the old and then recalibrate the CO as the flow of the new ones is a bit different

Whatever you do, use two (2) wrenches to remove the fuel line from the injector.

I have a set of spare Steel Injectors that have been ultrasonically cleaned and re-calibrated by Ettore Palazzo. They are off my car when I replaced them with new Brass ones. PM me if anyone is interested.

Just a point of clarification, . . . CIS injectors can't be 're-calibrated' per se. They have a fixed opening pressure based on the dynamics of the spring/pintle mechanism. Ultrasonic cleaning can remove exterior pintle deposits that alter the spray pattern, however, injectors with preexisting leaks are more challenging as they often result from deposits on the backside of the pintle preventing it from fully seating in the injector opening. With some creative ingenuity I have found a way to keep the pintle partially open during ultrasonic cleaning which has significantly improved my success rate in correcting leaking injectors. That stated, if the spring mechanism is compromised from corrosion no amount of ultrasonic cleaning will fix it. In that case the injector is a total loss as the spring can not be replaced in these sealed CIS units. The ideal scenario is to get a set of injectors that are leak free and have equal opening pressures which ensures equal flow to the cylinders (provided, of course, your fuel distributor ports are balanced). I messed around with several configurations in my car over the years: original steel injectors, brass replacement injectors, original steel that have been ultrasonically cleaned, and finally a matched set of original steel that have been ultrasonically cleaned with all 8 equal opening pressures. The final iteration was quite remarkable from a drivability standpoint. For a recent discussion on the merits of steel versus brass injectors see post #6: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/544286-any-reason-remove-plenum.html

Karl's set (robo330) that he's offering up turned out quite good post ultrasonic cleaning and although not perfectly balanced, the injector opening pressure variance wasn't that wide with excellent spray patterns and no drips at nominal pressure of 3.0bar.

One final note, I would like to let the community know that in no way am I trying to sell you on a product or service. It is true that I have shared my experience with others and have cleaned/tested injectors for Fchat members here in the past. Given my new duties at work as well as some other projects in the shop that need my attention, my free time has become quite limited and I likely won't be able to do this work for others anymore. That stated, there are a few folks that have recently inquired about getting their injectors tested and I will honor my prior commitments to them if they decide they want their injectors cleaned.

Thanks again Ettore for the clarification! Sorry to see that you won't be able to offer the service in future, for me it was very reasonable and nice to know what the performance characteristics were prior to changing the Injectors from the Steel Type to the Brass Type. If no one wants a set of Steel Injectors, I will keep them as a spare set. I was being responsible and trying not to "hoard" stuff that no one other than me has any value for! Strange, when I thought I needed some, and that was not so long ago, prices were all over the map. Now, with the efforts of our 308 forum, we have discovered a number of suppliers and people like Ettore who have built a support structure for the group. Great work!!!

Thank you.. I wanted to say the same thing.. but didn't want to be flamed or have the time for a back and forth discussion.

Also, from a pricing/availability stand point you may want to cross reference the injectors and related parts with Mercedes V8s of the era. Our cars have many parts that are non Ferrari produced and sourced from the general European OEM suppliers.

Do not use https://www.fcpeuro.com if you have a time-sensitive need. It turns out that they rely on partners to provide some of their product, and those partners are slow at shipping.

Hello again! I still have the set of Steel Fuel Injectors for sale. They have been ultra sonically cleaned, calibration checked, as well as the spray pattern. If someone is intent on maintaining the originality of their car, these are for you. All you will need is a new set of Green O Rings. Please PM me. Reasonable offers accepted. Thanks.

Originality? Not a sole in the world cares what color the injectors are. Bosch intended for them to be short term service parts and built that level of quality into them.

OK if it's not for originality, that's not why I was offering them for sale. According to Ettore the spray pattern is different from those on the Brass Injectors. How much that really matters is anyone's guess. Does it affect performance? I don't know, other than to say the engine "feels" different. Seat of the pant's stuff, so it has no value basically. Maybe you, Brian would like to comment on the difference between the Steel Injectors and the Brass ones... maybe not.
Anyway, there is a set of Steel Injectors still for sale if someone needs them. They are not doing me any good sitting on the shelf in the garage. PM me.

Both properly atomize the fuel and that is all the spray pattern is intended to do. Bosch did not design the nozzle for the Ferrari port shape and the port shape was not designed for the nozzle. In any event, it is a constant injection system and for 3/4 of the time the injector is sitting there spraying the valve is closed and fuel is being sprayed into a blind hole. A few degrees of spray pattern difference is of zero consequence.

As for seat of the pants difference, the placebo effect is a powerful thing. Dynos and stopwatches exist in part because even very talented and experienced race drivers are notorious for not being able to tell the effect of changes to their cars with any reliability.
