I have just a little road experience with the car, but am wondering what the car is like on track.

I've heard that the stability program cannot be fully de-activated. Can anyone confirm?

And, if not, how does the system react to four-wheel drifts and oversteer?

This car is not a wild track-beast. With the traction-control deactivated, you can just paint nice black marks on the street, but I wouldn't expect any kind of easily controlled power oversteer. M3 for you.

DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT mess around power sliding the old school AMG benzs.... bad things happen, very bad things happen, the mercedes traction control is a pain in the ass and doesnt like slides, stick to laying down patchs and dominating the highway it loves that, sliding no go...

Nah, the topic was the C43, not the handling subtleties of the car.

I'm definitely not buying one of these, just piloting it.

I've never driven one in a race, but on public roads it felt increadibly stable with just enough power to keep that inside rear leaking torque out of every turn. Just keep your lines clean and the rear tires hooked up for corner exit - it's got plenty of power. Your job is to get it down early and smooth and late-brake gently for better turn-in.

Mind if I ask why you are driving it?

Happy to tell you off-line, not on a public forum.

My concern is with the stability program and whether or not it's fully defeatable. Any insight?

i would say get a c32 or c55. you can put the car in dyno mode and do slides with no problems. for more info on dyno mode do a search on mbworld.org
