I am trying to fix the molten mess which is the fusebox in the front of my 91 TR. So far I have replaced fans and pumps, bought a new fuse box and have ordered the gold connector kit from SR Innovations. What I still need are a set of relays for the fuse box and a new set of white nylon wire connectors as mine look like the marshmellow that fell into the campfire. I am also considering the relay relocation kit from SRI. My questions are: For those that have installed the gold connector kit, does it include new "pins" which fit into the white fuse box connectors? Does anyone have a good source for testarossa relays sold as a set? The white nylon fuse box connectors are a combination of 10 pin, 8 pin and 11 pin connectors. Ricambi sells a variety of these for each size, has anyone ordered them and knows the Ricambi part number for each? Not every part number on the site includes a photo. Thanks to all.
Greetings.. The SRI gold kit does not include any of the terminals and connectors for the front fuse box.. I strongly recommend getting the fuse box modification by Dave Helms at SRI.. It is the 1 2 punch.. Call Dave I am sure when he does you fuse box mod he can replace the relays for you as well but if the relays are ok, I would leave them.. Dave may also have some information on those terminals as well along with the white connectors.. If you need help with the gold kit let me know.. I have done it in my car and it made a world of difference.. R
You can get the white connectors from RicambiAmerica: See pictures below (from Steven Magnusson): Right vertical 10 pin connector #12284080 Lower right horizontal 11 pin connector #12284780 Upper left horizontal 12 pin connector #1285880 For a set of relays, look in the FerrariAds: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=4137 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can someone please offer guidance removing and installing terminal pins (1227844 from Ricambi) to the white connector? What tool(s) are needed?
I am starting work on my 1988 Ferrari Testarossa. I pulled the fuse box and sent it to SR Innovations for the fuse box modification. Need to replace the 11 & 12 pin horizontal white fuse box connectors. The lower right horizontal 11 pin connector #12284780 looks correct but I also need the part numbers for the upper right horizontal 11 pin connector and the lower left horizontal 12 pin connector. 12284780 was discontinued at Ferrari and has been unavailable for quite some time. It has now been remanufactured and is available at Ricambi America: 12284780: http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=212572 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, Last year was able to find a vendor with some OEM 12284780 connectors still in stock. When the PO had problems with the fuse box white connector overheating he removed the wires from the connector by cracking the connector at the wire. He then bypassed the fuse box and installed a inline fuse. When Dave Helm updated the fuse box I removed all the PO's wiring, replaced the damaged white connector and reconnected the wiring properly.
