I barely see any white ferrari's.. why are they so rare? is it cause they are specific to certain geographic locations?

Honestly I don't think white is a very popular color for a sports car in general...so the reason is a lack of demand.

Statistically white is not a popular color according to reports published by Dupont Automotive finishes. It may be making a comeback though. Looking at Porsche GT3's white is popular and the best looking color on that model in my view and that of the many buyers. I agree though, I have never seen a white Ferrari apart from a lone Mondiale.

In my 348 search, I have seen a few white 348s, not my style

I'm sorry but IMO white sucks on both F and P cars. In fact I cant think of any car in which white looks great. I think that would explain why it's so rare.

Actually, I have seen a white 355 spider, a few white 308's, a white 348tb, a couple white TR's, and a couple white 328GTS's too. I've seen a white 550 on the internet....I think there are enough white Ferraris out there to at least handle the demand... ;)

I think white looks bad on any car unless it is being used in a wedding. However, I met a guy from Chicago that has a new F430 on order white with red seats, I guess some people just like it.

Actually, I would have agreed with you had I not visited the
Ferrari display at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show (January '02).
There, amidst the red Modenas, yellow Spiders, and silver
Maranellos, sat an unbelievably gorgeous 456M GT, in a
color that was a white/cream combination. I never got
the exact description of the color used by Ferrari
on this 2+2, but I snapped a picture that I admire to this day.

while red/yellow/black & silver are great colors on a Ferrari, they are way too common. especially Red. I know red is the BLOOD line of Ferrari and that's their signature, but seeing a WHITE 360 Modena makes you really appreciate the white color, pure..

While I don't believe white is typically a very pretty color for a Ferrari I did see a white 360 spider on the floor at Ferrari of San Francisco last Friday and it was beautiful...but I still wouldn't buy white.

Because any car in white makes it look like an appliance. I don't know anyone willing to pay $100,000 to drive a refrigerator!

I'm not a big white fan, but this Boxer looks d*mn fine to me. IIRC, one of the guys who worked at the F dealer said TRs came ~60% red, ~30% black, and ~10% white -- so I wouldn't call white exactly "rare" (compared to the green, gold, or brown ;)).

FYI, the buyer at NewportAutocenter(or whatever they call it) said that white 360's sell very quickly. If you've got one to sell talk to Tim.

I saw a white testarossa a few months ago for sale at a F dealer. It did not do anything for me other than to think it would be a pain is the ass keeping clean looking.

Any white car is popular in Japan, though I think that is begining to change. A decade ago, over half the cars on the road where white! :(
