For someone who is not that familiar with and might actually consider an F360 among others, which year/model would you guys recommend? Please include (in details) why you would recommend that specific year/model. Thanks guys!

    Which one is best? Mine!
    Why? Because I own it!

Actually quite a few have gone down this path.... I think most feel that '02 and newer have all the bugs worked out.

Depends. Obviously the last year (2004) had most of the minor problems fixed. However, the 99 and early 2000 were the quickest, and if they've had the variators fixed, and don't have the Tubi/check engine light problem, and had all the various campaigns done, I'd say those are the best years.

model year 99, it's the fastest, loudest model and has little depreciation left in it.

Ive recently started looking at 360s. Funny how the first year is considered the best. Its the same with the F355s, if all the bugs are sorted out with the car, the 1995s ARE the best.

Whats a decent (typical) price for a "driven" 360?

$95k - $150k.... but that's a pretty broad question so definitely take that with a large hunk 'o salt.
    You didn't give any parameters!

Do your homework on cars.com, ferrariads, ebay (another grain of salt there), dupont registry, etc etc etc.
You will get a hang for what some are asking and what your tollerances are.

Why were the 1999 360's faster? I have heard this more than once. Did they have a different engine or were they lighter?

Hmmm I have a '99 with the variators fixed AND the Tubi/check engine light issue and it sounds INCREDIBLE. Glad to hear it's also the quickest (it sure seems like it to me)! I had not heard about the pre cats not being there for 99's before-- interesting.

FYI, I had the check engine light issue checked out by Damian Forbes at Fusion MotorSports and the code came back as something like "too much oxygen" (sorry I don't recall the actual code) so he did a "smoke test" to check for leaks and found a muffler bolt that was not fully tightened. After getting the car back, I found the check engine light problem occurring far less often, but not eliminated completely so I get it might be partly a Tubi thing, but if that's the price for having the car sound great then I'm okay with it.
