Interesting anecdotal stuff about Gordan Murray and the genesis of the SA cottage motor industry: http://www.gt40s.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=28472&page=7&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 In about 1973 my father bought a hot Ford Escort "Steyn's Special 120" with Meissner cam shafts. I see Meissner mentioned in this post as well. I believe only 6 (or so) of these racing Escorts were made and I doubt if any still exist. The guy that my father sold his to died in it soon afterwards. Cheers, MARK
Another car I have loved & would like to own..... http://www.1966batmobile.com/ ...and I still have one of these safely stored back in SA: http://www.basichip.com/corgi_toys/267.htm MARK
From the back it's almost as flat and wide as a Testa! More here: http://www.jimdogg.pair.com/bat.html MARK Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hmmmm.... I don't know what to think of the Veyron......It's like a very fine Volkswagen with a wrong emblem! It's no doubt a great car.....only it's not a Bugatti! For a modern Bugatti I would definately go for the EB110 instead....all the "techno wizzardry" and heavy weight of the Veyron just don't spell Bugatti for me...
