Anyone have a recommendation on where to get one? Anyone have one for sale? My cat got trapped in there over night and shredded it...don't ask how.

What a couple of respectful guys.

All I can think about is wondering how the cat got zipped in!

After you finish hiding the cat's body, check eBay. There is always a seller o there selling them for $179. No idea if they are any good.

Any upholstery shop can make one. Take them the old one, without the cat.

I do recall some discussions you might dig up with a search saying some makers were using factory-type zippers and vinyl, while others used more robust zippers and were less concerned with matching the vinyl pattern exactly, so you can ask the right questions and match your replacement to your preferences.

Long time advertiser in Hemmings makes a replacement in the $185 range. He made up a cover for my top panel and it came out fantastic. He can be contacted at [email protected]. Thought I was going to have to replace my trunk cover due to broken zipper but local interior shop replaced sliders.

Thanks for all the info guys.

OK, OK...I know you guys must be wondering.

Drove home one day and had something in the trunk. Got it out and left the engine cover up. The alarm goes off in the middle of the night (sometimes the pin switch doesn't fully ground, then it does and the alarm goes off). I go out to the garage and and shut off the alarm and close the cover. The next morning my wife tells me that the cat is locked in the car, I go out and see the window rolled down, so can't be. I then hear him crying from the trunk. He must have jumped in there for the warmth from the engine. The cover is not terrible, but he clawed and tore parts of the zipper off. I might be able to have it repaired if they can also replace the area within 1" of the zipper...might be worth taking it to a upholstry place.

I bought one from Richard Ward in Van Nuys, Ca. It fits perfectly and has a double stiching on the zipper. IM me for contact info. I highly recommend his work.

I just had one made by the local upholstery shop here in Spokane. Took them my old cover and they did a great job. Used the highest grade vinyl and strongest zipper they make. Total cost including tax was $145.
If you get one made make sure that they leave at least 3 - 4 inches of extra material on all sides; this simplifies installation.
Took me about 30 min. to put the new cover in place.

I am replacing the boot cover on a 76 308 gtb. Where the cover is held to the body near the deck lid latches, mine is held with four black rivets though I've also seen black sheet metal screws - which is correct?

Also, what is the current thinking for a source for these? I see that both SuperPerformance and Lakewell sell them - any opinions on these or other options? Thanks

    thanks...that e-bay link is dead...

So any better alternatives to Superformance or Lakewell for the boot cover and any info on whether screws or rivets were used near the the deck lid latches? the parts book doesn't specify and have not seen answers from other searches

Thanks Ben - I had seen those options but didn't realize the premium price was because they are represented as genuine Ferrari parts...and do you know if its screws or rivets?

Sorry, I don't know. I found a NOS one years ago and had it professionally installed by an upholsterer. I can look when I get home and see.

The Eurospares cover doesn't only purport to be a genuine Ferrari part - It is represented as being a genuine Ferrari part, because it is a genuine Ferrari part (the same as the cover being sold by Maranello classic parts: https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/60114808?id=82212

The walkersport and Superformance covers are after market covers, made using a material that is usually described as being: "almost the same specification as the original material".

The genuine Ferrari versions come with the two latch holes already cut out - The aftermarket versions require the latch holes cutting out.

It’s “purported” because I don’t work for Eurospares (or Maranello Concessions) and cannot vouch for it’s authenticity but I guess you do/can.

The cover on my '76 Euro is secured around the latches with small, black Phillips head screws. That being said, it is not the original cover. If the original had been affixed with rivets, then when it was replaced, someone went through the trouble of tapping the holes in the latches to accept screws; seems like a lot of trouble.
And, based on the size of the screws, any rivets that may have originally affixed the cover would have been tiny. My money is on screws as the original means of attachment. There are plenty of F-chatters with more knowledge of these cars than I have; looking forward to their chiming in on this.
