Wipers were not working so I pulled them up off the windshield to give me 0 resistance. When I pull the stalk down, I can here what sounds like an electrical short but the wipers don't move (sort of like a gurgle). When I move the stalk down to position 2, the wipers swing back and forth. When I click the switch on the consol to change the speed, they do go faster. I'm thinking it's a bad relay but where is it under the dash? It was not immediately obvious and I did not see it on the relay chart in the owners manual. I do plan to lubricate/clean up the wiper motors and actuator arms under the front. Thanks
passenger foot well. It is a laborious process of troubleshooting this little confusing circuit. I would buy a wiring diagram from Paul308, and start tracing the signals, where they go and what values they are supposed to be at. I think Paul even redraws major circuit blocks to individual diagrams for easy reading.
A wiper intermittent relay is Item 21 in your wiring diagram, sorry but not sure of exact location, but as you already know -not on main relay panel. You will not find any footwell relaypanel in your -77. Believe early cars did not have. H
Thanks ME308! I don't recall seeing anything like that but I'll look again. I do have Paul's wire diagrams....I just did not see the relay noted anywhere.
