Hi guys..I'm currently replacing the battery cables on my 1980 400i with marine grade cable and connnectors..The negative is presently grounded to the engine, but appears not to have a braided ground from engine to frame (seems odd)..Couldn't find the specs in the shop manual..All thoughts on this are much appreciated ..Thanks in advance ....Jacques.

Jacques, I don't know @ Series I cars but w/Series II's, the earth ground is routed below the battery tray & bolted to the frame. The engine/drivetrain is grounded to the frame via 1" braided conductor from the bell housing of the clutch, I would think w/auto trans. it would be in the same general vicinity. B
