It's time for an oil change for the F12, and I can't seem to find the Shell Helix 10w-60 oil anywhere. qualitybearingsonline.com has them listed for $25/1liter which I think is a gouge, and that's the only reseller I've found. I read here that Shell owns Pennzoil, and it's being sold as Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Euro, but that doesn't seem to come in 10w-60. Amsoil Signature doesn't offer 10w60. I've always used Liquimoly or Mobil1 in my other cars, but I heard they aren't 100% synthetic while Helix ultra is. Wanted to keep the F12 engine happy with what the factory uses. Thanks in advance.

Penzoil Platinum Euro, full synthetic 100% and for the 812...5W40 from the Ferrari dealer in Canada is what they use and recommend. I would imagine its the same for your F12. I tried looking for Shell as well and the Ferrari dealer told me not to bother and use the Penzoil.

They have them for $41/gal. They're in UK, so with DHL to US, it comes out to be around $15/liter which is still high, but it's the best option I've found for USA. I bought their entire stock to get my average per liter down to 15 after shipping, so the next guy may need to wait a couple weeks. In retrospect, I wonder if getting 55gal drum would've been a cheaper route.

Pennzoil Platinum Euro is a good oil. In fact, the F12 manual calls for Pennzoil platinum racing oil 10w60 which I think was renamed as "euro"? but the "euro" name doesn't seem to come in 10w60 which is what F12 manual calls for..

I believe the Ferrari dealer uses the Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5-40 with the Ferrari logo on it. Its in the silver bottle that's pure made from natural gas. Seems odd that its not the viscosity in the manual but some years I put such low use on it you can literally drain it at the annual and put it in my other cars. Sad but not kidding.

In my oil testing that 10W-60 Shell oil is more as a thick 50 grade oil and rapidly thins to a 40 grade oil in use. So why not start with a quality 5W-40 instead. Do a search asking for me (Dr. Haas) and Enzo motor oil used analysis tests. For a real eye opener read my original oil articles and you would be using a 0W-40 oil at the thickest.

As a variation of the line, "if someone tells you who they are, believe them," I've haven't been flea market searching for the helix. If someone doesn't want to sell a mass produced product I assume there's something up.

Changing FF oil next week, so grateful for suggestions in conjunction with archival data in these pages.
