If the left fuse breaks left and the right fuse breaks right and the guy flys between you, you better be hoping for some really strong magnetic Geoblox block so you can get back together after you shoot him down!

The F-82 had (has) a crew of 2.
    Some had dual controls.

Any idea on the price? I know...if you have to ask you can't afford it. I admit I can't even afford to overhaul one of the engines let alone buy the dang thing ha.

This article in January said it was not for formerly for sale so now I'm curious: http://warbirdsnews.com/warbird-restorations/xp-82-twin-mustang-first-official-post-restoration-flight.html

The aircraft was originally designed as a long-range escort fighter (for B-36s, presumably) so those aircraft certainly had dual controls, as the reason for two crew was so that one pilot could take over while the other got some rest. The PIC, of course, was in the left seat but the guy on the right was there as a fully-fledged pilot as well.

By Korea the aircraft had become a night fighter, with radar in a large pod mounted under the center section. Now the right-seater was the radar operator, so I don't know if he would still have been a pilot. I'm guessing he might have had a rudimentary set of flight controls and instruments so that he could still fly and land the aircraft if the pilot became incapacitated.

According to the ad, the aircraft is being "represented" by Bob Hannah Aviation in Idaho and their phone number is 208-454-7858.

Be interesting to see what it is in comparison to a conventional Mustang. Rarity does not necessarily translate into price but then there are no real comps either.

Selling price will be the key, not asking price.

A crying shame taking off with the right seat empty.

Watching those A-10s take off reminded me of something Dad used to tell me; "If you built a runway around the world, Republic would design an aircraft that used every inch of it." He had experience with F-84Bs with only approximately 4000 lbst, which took every inch of the runways he was using.
