Can some answer a quick question? Just got my 82 Mondial yesterday, I has to have tires no question, someone mentioned finding a used set of 360 wheels.
Question is, will they fit? I found a set that needs a little work but at a decent price. Tire sizes are 215/45/ZR18 WITH TREAD DEPTH 10/32 AND REAR TIRES 275/40/ZR1

All Ferrari share the lug to lug spacing, but many of the "offests" are different, so you see wheels moved from car to car but often with spacers or modifications..

I can't answer immediately your specific question, but others will chime in....

probably the cheapest way to get new shoes for your car while using F-brand wheels. Fits, you need longer bolts, typically a set is around 30 Euro on ebay in Europe

    360 wheels

    18" x 7.5" with 215/45ZR18 front
    18'' x 10'' with 275/40ZR18 rear

    bolts:

    50mm, M14x1.5, 60 degree cone

348 wheels are typically the cheapest available and fit well with just longer bolts.
    Look great too.

This is why Im looking for the 328's, they just "fit" the car. This isnt mine, I found this on while looking for one to buy. I think Im going to have to hold out for a set or find some used.

Well, no one can stop someone from doing what they want. ;)

While they may look like they "fit", the offsets are wrong and the wheel bearings will suffer for it. I believe BigTex advised you of that already. But I guess if you only drive about a hundred miles a year then it shouldn't be a problem.

Quick math says there is about a 10% difference in the force exerted in the two offsets.

If my memory serves me well:
-Mondial 8 and QVs were delivered with offsets of 43,5mm front and 51mm rear.
Reproduction wheels "solve" the problem by 51mm on front and rear...

    - the offset of the 308 wheels are 11,15 mm front and 11,45 mm rear.
    - offset of the 328 "série one" are more or less the same.
    - offset of the 328 "série 2" with bulged wheels are 38,5 mm front and 63,5 mm rear.

I wouldn't worry too much about damage to the wheel bearings by running different offsets. my 308, 348, esprit have all had wider/different wheels than OEM and while each only gets about 1K miles per year I've never seen an issue. It's IMO a non issue. You see hundreds of cars running aftermarket wheels etc and rarely hear of bearing issues.

Fronts fit fine, IIRC it takes about 15-17mm off the inside of the rear mating surfaces to make the rears fit.

(I don't have this exact info at hand, but it is here on the forum, if I can find it, I will post the link)

Fortunately, the bearings on the Mondial's rear suspension are fairly cheap (4 total). Up front, almost a $1000 each, good thing there are only two.

Oh, and remember that the existing ones are probably 30 years old.

WOW! $1000 each? And I thought the wheels and tires were gonna be expensive.

Check out the prices on Superformance,

$348 per bearing not cheap but not to bad either.

Yes, the price I quoted was based on today's availability Stateside. If you go with the early 308 wheels consider buying the bearings as well (buy early, save money).

Sounds like you (OP) have made up your mind to go with 328 tires but I'd strongly second Wade's advice. If I ever have to switch from the OEM metrics at some point it will be to these.

    My 2c ! ;)

Hi Dean, these are 308 rims. The 328 rims are slidely different. The picture you are showing you can see a little center tower where the center cap is placed on. This is what the 328 rim does not have. You have two versions on the 328 ABS and non ABS rims.

1st pic is 328 without ABS flat center.
2nd pic is 328 with ABS curved center.
3rd pic is 308 with tower center.

Since the metric wheels on the Mondial are all the same size (?) I was thinking of using 2 front sets of 360 star wheels. I don't need the 10" rears really. That way my spare can match as well. Any thoughts?
    Nice lesson Tijn!! Thanks

The 328 without ABS or the 308. The 308 wheel pictured look excellent with the darker center section.

Once again, a small precision: the bulged wheels on a 328 do not mean the car has ABS...
ABS was, and remained in Europe at least, an OPTION for which you had to pay extra. Bulged wheels mean that the car MIGHT have that option, not that the car has ABS.
To see if the car has ABS indeed, you have to open the front hood and look at the brake fluid reservoir.
