Hi all, can anybody tell me the OD/ID, and possibly "tabs" depth of the wheel center caps for the OEM 20" forged rims and the OZ Ultraleggera HLT? I am asking as I don't have the car handy for some time, and would like to save some time in ordering new caps... Searching the forum didn't help. Thanks all.
I believe the Ferrari center caps are 43mm and will not fit OZ wheels. I believe you need 60mm caps for those. Contact Ricambi as they probablly have what you need.
hi, thanks for your reply. I have the OZ wheels in my hands: it's a very tricky dimension to take, as the caliper gauge doesn't fit the wheel center "cup", but I am pretty sure the OD is about 55mm; the ID is even trickier to take being deeper. I am in contact with OZ here in the EU and I hope they will promptly come back to me with the dimensions and yes/no about compatibility. Of course I will be able to make a simple test as soon as I will have the car back, just it was a matter of saving some time... in the worst case the OEM caps won't fit, as you say, and I will just wait or drive on OZ's with no caps...
Some OZ wheels also have 55 mm caps. So that is a possibility. Once OZ gets back to you, contact Ricambi. I believe they have center caps in both 55 and 60 mm. Some older models used these sizes.
The guy from OZ has been very helpful and just replied that, according to his technical notes, the OEM cap fits. He didn't say he tried it himself, he just copied&pasted his technical note. So for the time being my best bet is just waiting. As soon as possible I will try and post the outcomes of the test; it may help someone else searching the forum with no success like me. We have more or less all the info about the main rims dimensions, but not cap sizes, so we may start from here. Keep in touch.
Just to close this topic: yes, the OEM caps fit, as well as the bolts. Only "issue" is that the inner spokes profile of the OZ is so close to the caliper on the fronts. I hope they knew what they were doing, when they designed the wheels! Same things I said on a separate thread on bolts.
