    I've been meaning to ask, what's the electric connector at the top of the oil dip stick for? Oil level? Pressure? I've never seen another make with a connector like that on the dip stick. MY 85QV.

    Welcome. There is one one the gearbox too for its oil level.

    No, one for the engine oil level and one for the gearbox oil level. You have got 2 different warning lights.

    Ha, you're pulling our chain, right?

    Otherwise...

    No, the engine and gearbox are two entirely different things.

    So, one sensor is for the engine crankcase and the other for the gearbox (i.e. transmission).

    Dude, read the manual! ;)

    Oops. Brain fart. I know better. Guess that's what happens when you read/reply while multi tasking on the go with a smart phone. I think I was boarding a plane when I typed that reply. Yikes!

    That's the problem with smart phones, they seem to dumb down most everybody. I started to hate mine about a year ago but, alas, there's no effective alternative.

    I couldn't do my job without one (smart phone). Yet, I did my (same) job without one before there was such a thing. Go figure.

    Back on topic. I'm glad to know I've got oil level sensors on the engine and gear box. That and I know there's one on the coolant level too.
