That made me laugh for some reason! "Oh, nothing special....I have a Nissan, a Dodge, a couple of snowmobiles.....AND A FREAKING VECTOR W8!!" Where did that come from? Great looking car btw. What are the stats on that thing?
Why did you start two threads on this? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=137920499#post137920499

agreed these threads are starting to smell funny. I guess we can include family members as "my garage." rather see a thread of "what's in your attic or barn of interest?"
Ok a few more of my toy. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Each of the 17 production cars were unique from the factory. Basic stats were 625+hp 649 lbft of torque minimum guaranteed. That said several of the cars had more horsepower than advertised. My car is on the healthy side. With 8 lbs of factory set boost (the minimum) she puts down 749hp and close to that in torque. With 14 lbs of boost and 110 octane fuel in the tank, she will do over 1200 hp and over 900 lbft of torque. The engines were set up to deliver 1200 hp then detuned to just over 600 to insure they would last the life of the owner. The car is no lightweight weighing in at 3250 lbs. Body construction is Kevlar, carbon fiber and S-Glass. Chassis is 4130 chro-moly with semi aluminum monocoque , front and rear impact beams, epoxy bonded and riveted, with an aluminum honeycomb floor pan. Many components come from the aerospace industry, example: brake booster is from Lockheed. Wire harnesses are aluminum from the same subcontractors that build them for the F16 and F14, all with mil-spec molex connectors with gold plated connections to prevent corrosion. The dash display panel is out of the F117A Stealth Fighter, switches and circuit breakers are out of the F14 and F16, same mil-spec numbers. Back when she was built, top speed was part of her mission statement, but it was tough finding a transmission that would handle the occasional trip down high boost lane, so a custom 3 speed automatic with ratchet shifter was incorporated. This allowed the engine to stay on boost between shifts and create a sensation of constant linear acceleration. Isaac has been in the car and can attest to her capabilities. For her time her statistics were pretty epic. Remember she is 16 years old. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds ¼ mile 12.0 at 129mph And top end at a gear limited 242mph. At the time she was the world’s fastest production automobile. Today she has been eclipsed by a hand full of other cars, but still pretty respectable. She has one short coming. After all these years, the Michelin XGT’s are no longer made in her shoe size. So tires (old and hard as plastic) are her limiting factor these days. Still a fun car to have. If there is something in particular you want to know , let me know.
Great write-up! Love it in white - some how brings out the youthful lines one question - what can you store under the front bonnet?
What are the gear ratios/final drive ratio in order to get a 3-speed auto up to 242 mph? seems like each gear would have to be extremely long and just rely on the torque at low rpms off the line. great car BTW! fascinating piece of American engineering history
There is enough room for a briefcase or two, there was a factory zero aluminum luggage option for her, but it was a $1500 option in 1992. I wish I had it, it would be a great factory option to have today. I usually keep cleaning supplies in there for the car shows.
My current garage (beyond the Ferrari 365 GT 2+2) is ordinary -- 2004 BMW 325I and 2006 Mazda 3 (2.3 five speed). How about the past? Mine includes 1998 Acura Integra GS-R, 1987 Acura Integra 4 door, 1975 MG-B, 1969 Volvo 1800S (250,000+ miles on it), 1972 Volvo 142 (winning SCCA Pro Rally Car), 1961 BMW 700 Coupe, 1960 BMW 700 Sedan (the 700 saved BMW from bankruptcy). Thanks, those are excellent ! You're fortunate to own such a rare car...I've always loved these since the time they came out, and your white one is the best colour scheme I have seen on one. Maybe you could bring it down to Keeneland next year in Lexington KY so I can have a close look at it
