Anyone know what the price is going to be?
$50-$80k more than 458 Italia would be my guess. AWD system, Direct Injected V12, Getrag DCT, more leather, more computers, more metal, more glass. $315,000 - $375,000 Range
Quote from a written review on the 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo: "When youre spending this kind of money on a car - $133,575 to start the last thing you want to hear is that its looks will grow on you." The FF will likely be 3 times that amount.
Because the unit costs of leather, glass and "metal" are what drive Ferrari prices? Just once I'd like to see Ferrari underestimate the taste of its consumers.
No way. Ferrari could put a turd on wheels and enough people will pay whatever it costs just to have the newest version of the famous badge. It may not be a hit...but its impossible for Ferrari to have a flop. Lots of room between the two.
Me too. Forgetting the third-of-a-million dollar price tag and the ultra low ground clearance, 99.999% of ferrari's don't even encounter rain. But, who knows, maybe the FF will change everything.... As with lambo, the 4x4 is about performance, not inclement weather.
I bet the 612 was a bit of a disappointment to them though. It's a really small market for someone who wants to spend that much on a performance luxury machine. Just a few hundred extra sales could be a big difference.
I bet that's true. I would bet if the sell 2000 FF cars in 5 years, they will be satisfied. What they are really waiting for is the 458 spider. They will sell about 70% 458's as spiders two years after the introduction because they will already have a 2 year supply of coupes in the market. It would not surprise me that sales of 8 cylinder cars will be about 80% of their total sales now that they have the California.
I'm more curious as to where they'll be sold. Is the FF aimed at the emerging markets of China, India and Russia? If its a success there it may be the most important Ferrari in a long, long time.
I think it might already be technologically speaking. This 4wd system is making way for huge HP that gets to the ground.
You seriously think the US needs a 12 cylinder 4 passenger AWD daily driver car? Americans don't even use their Ferrari's if they THINK it might rain, let alone snow. We Americans are wimps. We won't take them to work for fear of upsetting fellow employees, we won't use them for business for fear of upsetting our clients, we won't take them to a car wash, we fear taking them to a parking lot because they might get a door ding, we won't let valet's park them for fear that the may get abused in the parking lot, and we worry about every single 1/10th of a mile we put on the ODO. If we drive them 66 MPH, the cops love to give us tickets. We spend tons on them and then park them in our garages most of the time while we complain that their batteries go dead. This car is for Europe and Asia.
I visited the factory in October last year and at the time they said they were making 24 V8s (458/Cali on same line) a day and 5 V12s. That would be 83% V8s so you are not far wrong. PAUL
