Wife made crock pot chicken, sautéed peppers and the usual endive/radicchio salad. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
No Frank. I need it right this second!! Whenever is cool. It looks good and I've never really thought too much about using bone in chicken.
I woke her up: Sliced onion on the bottom, halved chicken, lemon slices on top, 1 pack of (powdered) zesty Italian dressing and a little broth. Now what is really good is the crock pot pulled beef: Chuck roast, 1 pack of zesty Italian dressing (or ranch) 1 stick of butter and NO liquid of any kind......the secret is 8 pickled pepperoncini. And that is it. You're tempted to add some liquid but don't.
Brave man! Good going Jason. Now his wife is going to be sleep deprived. Pizza. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sardine tomato sauce. Pickled red onions. Cheese, some salumi and ham and olives for dinner...gave us something to eat with the bottle of Sicilian red. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tapas time! I thought I was the only one who gravitated towards Sicilian reds. Looks to be a good one...T
Finally went to a steakhouse that has long been on my list - Blacklock. Fantastic. Cocktails, canapés, wine, sides, sauces and the 28-ounce Porterhouse was first rate. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That steak looks to be cooked perfectly. Image Unavailable, Please Login Rice bowl. White rice, beef, mushrooms, sriracha, chapati. Mushroom and beef were cooked with garlic ginger paste, S&P, cumin. T
Damn Frank now your wife hates me! That's sounds great. I really appreciate it!!! And tell your wife thank you and I'm sorry for resting her slumber.
What are you fn crazy!?!?!?!? She woke up!!! I forgot- brown the beef. Y'all will just love that pulled beef on slider rolls (sadly no more rolls for this diabetic), but that little hint of vinegar just makes it and you'd be amazed at how much juice that beef puts out. Again, don't add any liquid, just the butter.
Meatloaf ready for the over last night. And the final result. (Fuzzy pic.) Very good. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yummy. I should make meatloaf more often, since it's one of the wife's favorite comfort foods. Speaking of days of yore, the wife and I are reliving our starving college student days. Ramen! I bought a couple of these at Kroger. 50 cents. Total. Image Unavailable, Please Login Zapped the noodles in the microwave with about a cup of water (about 3 min). I chucked out the little packet of chemicals & instead topped with leftover Asian inspired beef and mushrooms from last night. Like most foods, better with a generous squirt is sriracha. T
Nice... Ramen noodles. With the “little packet of chemicals” (and salt)! Perfect. You could get a case of those for a few bucks. I ate plenty back in college days.
The aforementioned pulled beef.....and with sauerkraut and sautéed vegetables. Having brats with the sauerkraut tomorrow..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Roasted Cod with veggies, topped with another Hollandaise Sauce (this time with chives added). Really yummy (but we gotta stop the Hollandaise addiction before it stops us)... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Last night we went to a long-awaited dinner at Gymkhana. Its an Indian place that was super hot, and then got too hot and literally had a fire that closed it for many months. It reopened last month, so we went in for dinner. Did the "Tasting menu" (yeah, its "that" kind of Indian place - sorta low-grade michelin-y). Anyways the food was very tasty, and a couple of the dishes were stupid spicy/hot (had to get some yogurt to cool down my mouth). I'll post the tasting menu in case you want to know what each dish is. I will mention that the one with the "bread dome" on a dish is the biryani cooked with a bread "lid" that keeps the rice moist while it bakes. The "lid" is removed in the pic with all the side dishes added. Oh, and the meal ended with the usual weird and not good Indian attempts at dessert. Chicken on the BGE... it’s been a while. Hit the low 70s today. Local BBQ sauce with bourbon. Store bought Meyer lemons - still very tasty. Overall it was fantastic.
