Beef Bourguignon. Fantastic. One of the wife’s specialties. Accompanied with a nice red wine. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had my mushroom fix today. Went Foraging for mushrooms at the Farmers Market came across these. Add some fresh semolina pasta, prosciutto, shallots with some parmesan reggiano makes a tasty meal xo Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice... those look amazing. I need to hit the local farmers market for mushrooms and other good stuff.
I'm sticking with walking distance to my hotel. Its near the major highway that runs across Canada. Its the main highway here. Hotel gets busy and parking is limited. A chain called the Cactus Club Café is across the street. Planning on grabbing a bacon cheddar burger there. https://www.cactusclubcafe.com/menus/abbotsford/food/full-menu/
oh man...feel for ya stuck in a hotel. So your house is already sold and you are out? That was fast. Think you will find a rental? Come down to AZ!
That looks awesome! It reminded me of something new I experienced this summer... I have a good friend who invited me to his annual family gathering in Montana. His brother was there and the brother has become obsessed with making Paella. He even went to some courses in Spain and sources fancy/expensive saffron and rice from there (pictured below, that's the saffron in the fancy box and glass jar). He even travels with this giant paella pan and custom cooking stand/flame with propane hook up cooking unit (see pics). I've had it twice this year...once when he brought this set-up and ingredients to Montana, and again when he dragged that pan and ingredients all the way to France to cook at his brother's (my friends) wedding in Burgundy one night. I have to say, his Paella is amazing... I made this around dinner time. Watching football with my friend we decided to make banana bread because of my ever ripening bananas. Decided to add almonds and crunched up Nilla wafers. We did not have baking powder and I was short on sugar, but it came out pretty good and moist. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hotel isn't too bad. Just busy. Sold house quickly to a neighbor. The rental market is competitive here. So finding a decent house that allows dogs on a six month lease is difficult. I might up my budget and lease for a year to find a place.
Tonight's choices are. A chain called the Old Spaghetti Factory, they are o.k. They have one in Seattle and LA. McDonalds, Burger King or Dairy Queen. All walking distance...………
Oh, you were so close to making one of my all time favorite desserts. Nilla Wafer Banana Pudding. http://www.backofthebox.com/recipes/desserts/original-nilla-banana-pudding-g.html My aunt made the best. Dang it, and I just chatted with her this afternoon. She's 92 now, you think it would be rude to call her back and ask her to whip me up & ship me a couple? T
When we renovated the house, finding short team rental leases was near impossible. We finally went for a 12-month lease. I guess landlords would rather have an empty place than re-let it so quickly?!? Good luck Max! T
Thanks...…… Its very competitive here. The agents have open houses to show the rentals. At least 10 people show up. Most will do a year. Plus I have a big dog, that's also a negative. I've looked on the buy side. But this time when I buy, I'm never moving again. Nothing on the market appeals to me for a permanent home.
Tom, that is probably my number 1 if I could only ever have one. And that's next on the list to make.
I've seen it fine easier - jello banana pudding, chuck in a ton of Nilla wafers. Voila! There is a bbq place in Abilene that does a good banana pudding. As I recall, it had Nilla wafers in it. Time to kick this cold to the curb, old school style. Chicken soup. Onions, carrot, celery, acini de pepe pasta, S&P, garlic and lots of it. Jello and fruit are no-no together. That just sounds awful. Lol I think jello is only enjoyable on it's own.
Oh, not the regular Jello gelatin. Something like this is what I was thinking... View attachment 2864758 And this recipe... https://hipfoodiemom.com/2012/03/09/banana-wafer-pudding-great-for-kids/ T
Haven't posted much here so why not post an update. Saw this youtube video and figured I would tried it...no wok needed! Of course I messed with ingredients but for the first time it was a hit! Made a small portion using a lot more spice bit preferred the first batch. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
