What would I use to check vehicle history for a car that's in the Netherlands?
The VIN is not recognized with Carfax.

I'd like to hear from a member in Europe preferably or any other country. What do you guys use for a vehicle history report? How do you check mileage and accident history before a purchase?

I've never heard of one. Maybe you just need a good PPI and paint meter test. Also, maybe there is some way to do an ISO claim type search for the VIN number? Good luck.

I have looked into this a few weeks ago while trying to trace a European car. I didn't find anything equivalent. Carfax say they have a presence in Europe, but I think it's only for US-registered cars. The individual countries' motor vehicle department may have the MOT inspection results available, but that doesn't help much.

I've used national police registries in some countries. There is no central reporting body, public or private for ownership and registration data (stolen cars are somewhat easier to find)
