    this came up with a in a discussion with a few friends...for 200k, what combo of two sports cars would you buy, with one being a coupe and one a convertible..the cars can be new or used, one or both or neither can be a ferrari...mix and match as you like...also, neither car has to be a daily driver, ...we are assuming you have access to a more mudane car for that purpose if you choice....the combos are endless but it would be interesting to see different auto enthusiasts logic for picking the car combos...

    For the Coupe I would get a Nissan 350Z and for the convertible I would get a 360 Spider, Rosso Corsa.

    OR

    For the coupe a 360 Modena, Rosso Corsa and for the convertible a Honda S2000.

    Hmmm...for the coupe I'd get a DB9 (to also be used as a daily driver), and for the weekend I'd have a 328 or 348.

    Ultima GTR and F355 Spider or Gallardo.

    Alternatively for $200k one could buy a used C-5 Z06, Viper, 350Z, MR-2 MkII turbo, Supra TT, 540i 6sp, and a bunch of other old sports cars.

    Or wait and snatch up a Murcielago Roadster when it gets below $200k.

    Here are my thoughts, although i appreciate that this comes down to a matter of taste and priorities:
    first, no new cars- let the first guy take the hit;
    In the same spirit, i think the 360 will continue to sink in value, so i'll propose something older by far- 512BBi, or possibly, clean Daytona. Granted, the latter will cost you and leave not as much change as you'd probably like (40 grand left, let's say); the Boxer, a really good one, fully fettled late model injected car or restored 365, i'm guessing, 100k.
    What to do with the balance?
    Well, if i'm going for a convertible, i'd go for a real bugs in the teeth one, old fashioned, say a 60's Morgan 4 with weber carbs- You might even be able to do the Daytona and the Morgan as a package deal.
    If you went with the Boxer, you could buy the Morgan and still have enough to buy a restored 73 911 RS clone, or an older Porsche convertible. In fact, if you let me do the negotiations, i might be able to sneak a motorcycle into the mix, as well....

    Morgan +8, used, runs around 40-50k tops
    For fun typical of a car-nut cars.

    And a Volks Phaeton V10TDi for the dreadfully boring highway cruiser ... can't be more than 100k ...

    SL65... 190k, but both coupe and convertible ;)

    Hmm well I'd say more realistically an Elise and a 360. How much are 550s these days? If I could slip into that I would... well, no, I'd take the 360 over that.

    I would have to first select the 512TR for the coupe, then with the app. 105k left over maybe go for the Maserati convertible? I am not much for convertibles, so my choice ther would be less important to me. I might be inclined to go for the Panoz AIV Roadster (it is very distinctive and might be a good driver).
