83 QV cab. I just replaced the fuel pump and it was running well. Now, the 'service due' lamp is on the console. The owners manual is rather vague on it except to say to have the car taken to a dealer for inspection and repair.

Does anyone know what conditions set the 'service due' lamp?

It's nothing but miles driven that triggers it. The sender is under the front bonnett and can be reset with a small screwdriver or similar tool.

Thank you Steve. I'll dig out my service book and find the reset. I don't recall going over a milestone on the odometer, but it's possible.

I don't have my book with me as I'm out of town but as I recall it's right next to the filter/dryer for the A/C. It might be that you can just press the button with your finger...it's been a few months and I just don't remeber for certain, but there's nothing to it.
