Looks great!
Are these a good representation of the color? I saw the swatch of Rosso Fuoco yesterday and liked it quite a bit compared to the car I saw in a dark showroom.
The colour changes drastically depending on lighting. It goes from a deep red (almost maroon) under low light to a glowing candy apple red with gold undertones in direct sunlight.
Fuoco has a lot more orange in it, not a bit. Fuoco also has gold metal flakes whereas Maranello has silver flakes. They are very different. Maranello generally looks more red, and Fuoco has a tendency to fade between orangy-red and almost burgundy with a hint of copper. Maranello is more of a lively and lush red with lots of depth and clarity. Fuoco is more of a "special-effects" kind of colour in my opinion. I think Fuoco is stunning, but it's also a picky colour when it comes to lighting.
Oh man, I've got to decide this weekend, and still stuck in Rosso land! Lol! Waiting to hear if Rosso Maranello is even possible because of paint delays associated with it. Likely Fuoco will be the color. Want metallic of sorts, so between Maranello and Fuoco. Considered F1 2007, but because I hear it's non-metallic, it may be out. This thread has been very helpful, and I thank everyone for the input.
Well, now considering Rosso Magma. If not available, Fuoco. I think Magma is a Maserati based color, but now a 4-layer Ferrari option. From what I’ve read, it seems very well received.
I'm not sure if it's available, but can you spec a Pista in Rosso Portofino? That's an amazing color too.
RM is one of the colors that has a serious delay in production. I am not sure they would at this point. My 812 in RM comes mid January. Anxiously awaiting arrival!
I tried. Got a price. Asked for it. Got it bounced by the factory. Anyone seen or got one in Rosso Portofino?
Going for Rosso Fuoco for the Pista. Will have a Rosso Fuoco and Rosso Maranello car together at some point next year. The debate will finally be settled!
I came upon this old thread by googling “Rosso magma versus Fuoco.” I’ve had my heart set on Fuoco for my GTS (currently stage 10g), but lately I’ve seen some stunning cars in magma, making me conflicted. Did you end up getting your Fuoco pista, and do you have pictures?
I ordered my GTS in Magma, and sometimes wish I had for the Pista. Fuoco is a fantastic color, but I have Maranello on my 812 and prefer that color overall, especially for a GT car. Magma seems relatively similar to Maranello, just a little brighter.
Thanks for sharing. Both of your cars look amazing, and I suspect one can’t go wrong with any of those three reds (Magma, Maranello, Fuoco). What is it that makes you less enthusiastic about Fuoco now? Is it that it leans a little bit orange?
If I didn’t have the comparison to Maranello, I think I’d like Fuoco even more. Don’t get me wrong, it is a fantastic color and the way the light hits is worth every penny, but I like the mica element of Maranello, where the paint has to work harder to find the light. From the drivers seat, sometimes the raised parts of the fenders light up more than the hood and it is a very special effect. It is very light dependent, much more so than Fuoco. I like the more pure red of it, as Fuoco sometimes looks candy red and then from the other side burnt orange/copper. We all still enjoy both colors much more than we did the Rosso Corsa on the 458. To me, they all look great in the sun with direct light. Fuoco is more interesting in the shade and Maranello looks like Mugello.
thats all very helpful information. My F8 was my first new Ferrari, so I didn’t know any better than to get rosso corsa. It’s beautiful, but I agree that once you set your eyes on the 3/4 layer Rosso, you can’t go back Image Unavailable, Please Login
