Guys, any idea if this is a factory paint & the name/PPG paint code? Am thinking of repainting my black SV. Thanks! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Disagree that this is Viola Ophelia, Roy. VO is much darker/deeper. The original pictured car seems to be brighter and more "pink" by comparison. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Incorrect information. Viola Ophelia metallic was used 2000-2008 AFTER Diablo SV production had ended. You see it on some 6.0 cars, and one some Murcis. Gallardos too, of course. The paint code for Viola Ophelia metallic on the car is LAMBOR-0061 and at PPG the code is 0061. Here are some examples of VO metallic, nothing like the color the OP is looking at. Jon, The link you took these pics has the color & tint of this car (which I know) skewered for some reason: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/lamborghini/1995-1999-lamborghini-diablo-sv-ar608.html In actual fact, the color you are looking at is Rosso Targa, paint code on the car is LAM.154.492, and the PPG code is 154.492. It was used in several Diablo Roadsters and Diablo SVs. and has been revived in recent times on some Murci SVs. Here are some examples that represent the color a bit better. However, even with these images the color is different in every pic. The reason for this is the paint is very fluorescent, meaning it is very reactive to light sources around it. Again each image looks different depending on light sources & sunlight Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Revived in recent times, images of a scale model show the color fairly well. The real car is at the bottom, of course. Hope all this helps. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, had a 97 Roadster in that color..think nick name for it is "Lip stick Pink" I had a 2001 Diablo, in the Viola..both colors change quite a bit..
The first SV you picture with chrome wheels, I do believe resided in SoCal back in 2000. If so, I saw this car at Concorso that year. Love the combo, but not for me. Maybe for my daughter one day...
Wow. Guys, thanks for the replies & Joe especially, BIG thanks! Great information & pictures here. Never seen anything like the Rosso Targa in my area & it does look a little too pinkish but it does look quite unique on the new SV with matt blacks while VO metallic looks a little "dull" though. What colour would you guys recommend for a late SV? I'm getting bored with the black on black look & the seals on the glass are hardened so would like lift off the glass, change the seals & paint the car. P.S. one of the Lp700 Sv in my area has a special paint similar to the concept Miura, a pastel yellowish-green but a pity I didn't remember the name under the bonnet cover. If you must go green, I would stick with a color that is correct-for-period for the Diablo SV: Verde Scandal, paint code on car: LAM.154513, PPG code: 154.513 Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think it was originally bought from Vik at LOC by lottery Jim, forgot the guys name but I remember he won the lotto and Mario Andretti drove his car in the running of the bulls. I think it had Tubi exhaust with no cats at the time, was so loud he was constantly pulled over for breaking noise laws.
Since we're on the subject, can anyone tell me the name of this purple/blue? Looks (in person more than photos) like a "periwinkle" color. I love this car/color, hell probably buy it if I knew who owned it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
FWIW that first SV which I pictured belonged to one of the Directors of Broadcom Inc in Irvine, CA, a friend & client of mine. The car is imaged in the parking lot of the company.
If I recall correctly , that colour is simply known as " TRENTA " Italian for " THIRTY " and it was exclusive for 30 cars of the 1994 SE 30 Anniversary Here's mine http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/184627_184749884893430_7106817_n.jpg It looks pink in direct sunlight , whereas Viola Ophelia is darker
Not even close. You are referring to "Lambo Thirty" LAMBOR-210113 on the car, PPG code 210113, as mostly used on the 30th Anniversary SE cars. It is nothing like "Rosso Targa". As if to illustrate the point, here is a pic that shows both colors: Lambo Thirty in the foreground, Rosso Targa in the background. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This could be a contender. Not too sure if I can take the luminous color after a while, it's definitely sticking out anywhere u'd go! That's one color that I've shortlisted too.
leave it black! it is perfect as it is (imo) more pics of your car and infos? also what countach is in the back?
