I know there are a lot of scanner that works for 360, but anyone have tried on a F430, and that clear the code as well. Thanks for your input
This one works just fine for my 360. I think it will also works for the 430. Remember that all the common readers just read the generic codes, for the complicate codes you need the SD-2. Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is an interesting application for the iPhone (search for OBD2 codes) that displays the reason for a particular Pcode. Does anyone know of an iPhone app that uses the bluetooth function to actually communicate with a blutooth transmitter plugged into the OBD2 port? Thanks...
Interestingly This is what they reply: I spoke to the mfg about the code scanner able to work on a Ferrari F430 and the tech I spoke to said that if it is Imported into the United States then yes it will work but if it was Exported* out of the United States it will not work.* I verified with him about whether the it will read and clear* the codes and he said yes it would. So I assume the ECU on US and none US car are different *
Check out... http://mavizontech.com/MeetAutobot.htm They are supposed to release the product next year.
Thanks for that, but do you really know any scanner will work for euro spec F430? And any of those can see the actual horse power of the car?
Any software solution will work on a F430. I don't use handheld OBD tools but only software based solution with a ELM based bluetooth/usb adaptor. There are many ELM based adaptors on the market, have a look to scantool.net. There is also a small display unit which is of very good quality but of course quite limited in terms of diagnostics : scangauge. I don't know any solution which will display the HP because this information is not broadcasted on the OBD line. Some software give you a calculated HP value but I seriously doubt on how exact this can be. To know your HP, you need a very complex Dyno and even with a Dyno, it still remains relative because CF have to be used. One day, depending on temp/atmo pressure/oxygene mass etc, your car will deliver 450 HP, other days 485 etc.
Have you actually use a scan tool to test on your f430. Does it work? I guess your car is euro spec like mine. because my gurage actually have those tools but can get nothing out of their tool but it works in the Mercedes and BMW or Honda etc.. If it works then what brand or model you use
For simple OBD diagnostics,I mainly use the ScanMaster and Digimoto software. The adaptor I use is a very basic ELMScan 5 bluetooth and works perfectly well on my F430. It still exists in USB version but I think that for bluetooth, they sell now the OBDLink product instead. For sure, if you want to get out the more specific data from the ECU's, you need to get into the CAN (ISO 11898) protocol and some good programming skills ;-)
Wish I read your comment earlier.... the PLX kiwi **** got fried within 30seconds and smelt like burn circuit
Foxwell NT-520 is under $300, will work for both engine banks and will communicate with all of the control units I tested it on including the TCU. It can't do everything an SD3 can, but for the money it is hard to beat. Works on multiple Ferraris.
Reviving this thread since the information might be outdated. I happen to be in the market for a new reader and wanted something that could work on the F430 and perhaps access both ECU's. From this thread, I'm seeing the Foxwell NT530 standing out. I'm eventually planning on getting an X431 for service reasons, but scanning through Foxwell's site, I came across this item that looks like it might do a good bit more than the NT530 for not much more money: https://www.foxwelldiag.com/products/foxwell-nt710 I'm not versed enough in the F430 to know if that is indeed capable of doing functions similar to the X431 or if it's just a snazzier reader. Thoughts?
Have a look at. OUTILSOBDFACILE.COM. Based in France, this will read both ECUs and gearbox. Available for pc, i pad, android . Downloadable and you get free updates
The Autel AP200 is a great low cost scanner (~$60). I've been able to clear any codes from Capote to Engine to Airbag as well as read PIS and clutch position (to calculate clutch remaining). Do you know if the NT-530 does more than that? Will it allow you to set the PIS?
I don't know the extent of the functions of the Foxwell tool. Other non-Ferrari users have mentioned resetting the airbag light with it. I did find this comparison which did not shed favorable light on the Foxwell vs the Autel you mentioned: http://blog.obdii365.com/2020/05/01/maserati-scanner-foxwell-nt520-pro-vs-autel/
I use a Mini Launch Pro. It is more expensive ($600-$700) but it is usable on a very large number of cars which I work on and it does a lot of functions on the 360 and 430. But, it does not work on the 355.
