    If you ask me, the demographics of the participants in Car Week should be sufficient for automakers to forget car shows and spend their promo dollars at Monterey. Here's some car company names, anything going to be seen for the first time or at least first time in US?

    Mercedes--another version of that very long nosed AMG coupe, maybe the pickup truck (egad!)
    Ferrari? (wishful thinking for a new Dino?)
    Maserati?
    Aston-the Zagato coupe, maybe the roadster
    Lamborghini?
    Porsche -the wagon Panamera
    Pagani?
    New brands heretofore unknown

    On that new brands, I get a kick out of the fact that every couple years some schlub has a preview for some new car he intends to produce, he rolls two or three out to applause (or not) and then you never hear of it again. But hey it's a moment of glory...

    Ford a full size Continental, more Bentleyish than ever.
    I still say Ferrari could show the clay model, fully painted and chromed
    of the SUV and stop some from order Lambo SUVs.You don't let the competition get a two year lead on you...

    Lamborghini - I believe the Huracan Performante Spyder will be unveiled at Quail (last year was the Centenario Roadster and the year before that, the Aventador SV Roadster)

    only right on the eve of Monterey Car Week. It would have been nice if we knew months ago these unveilings were going to be at The Quail. This is a quote of the press release ....

    · Audi – Exciting New Brand Launch

    · BMW – Concept 8 Series First Public Display in North America

    · Karma Automotive – All-new auto show debut

    · Ken Okuyma – Unveiling of world premier one-off V12 mid-engine car
    (my note: he designed the Rosso concept, the Enzo and one other production Ferrari)

    · Maserati – Relaunch of an iconic model

    · Mercedes-Benz – Celebratory display of its 50th Anniversary of AMG

    · Rolls Royce – Unveiling of a unique Dawn as commissioned by a one-of-a-kind customer

    This morning at Spanish Bay I saw a white 488 front shaped Ferrari with heavy loose fitting white fabric from door rearwards. The back end was completely hidden.

    BMW also had their worldwide premier unveiling of their concept Z4 roadster...I was at press conference with one of my cars serving as backdrop.

    It was parked on a side street while the Parade of Elegance diners were having lunch but maybe it will be in the Dream Car lawn display at Pebble
