For years, the Esprit used Supra tail lamp lenses. I don't think it's a big deal.

Using someone else's parts bin saves big time on costs. I don't think Noble skimp in other areas.

I agree, it's no big deal. If the car were a one-off - like P4/5 - then I'd agree. But the Noble's entire point of existence is maximum performance for as little cost as possible. I drove an M12 GTO and it was unbelievable. To think you can buy something whose performance specs compare to most contemporary Ferraris at a fraction of the Ferrari cost is mind-boggling.

The taillights are indeed from a Sonata. This was a choice made by 1G Racing because they fit and they are much prettier than the UK taillights which require amber turn lenses (and actually came from either a Ford Escort or Mondeo i think) if I remember correctly.

    UK Noble pic attached.

For any US noble information check out 1G Racing at http://www.1gracing.com/

and the Noble Forums at http://www.nobleforums.com/

Edit: Also, the map lights between the driver and passenger in a Noble are the same as in my SVT Contour (UK - Mondeo ST200). But then again the engine is also a twin turbo 3L Duratec engine that is found (in 2.5L form) in my car, and in 3L form in many Fords, Mazdas, and Jags. The Ford Taurus or Escape has the exact 3L block used in the Noble. The Mazda 6 (V6, not the Mazdaspeed 6), and the Jag X-Type also has this engine. Despite its rather ordinary vehicles that the engine powers, it is truly a fantastic engine. It sounds amazing and is surprisingly powerful. I someday hope to own a Noble just because of how much I love the Contour SVT.

I am not saying its a big deal or anything, it was just a "makes the noble look cheap" statement. I think if they redesigned the bars and made them all white instead of a red strip through them, it would look nicer.

Come on, it's just a tail light. No harm there. It's not like they are using also the gearbox casing & fuse box. (Or are they?)

Would you ever drive a Ferrari with rear lights from a Kia? I didn't think so, either.

The P4/5 actually uses 599 taillights but atleast it stayed within the company.

Yep the UK cars use Mondeo lights (from really old Mondeos too - the first generation ones which originally came out around 1993 IIRC) having seen the pics, I too prefer the USA Hyundai lights. Amber turn lenses aren't necessarily a legal requirement here though - some cars that use LED rear lights now have clear lenses with orange LEDs beneath them, or even an orange bulb under a clear lens.

Though I couldn't care a damn what car the rear lights came from, it surprises me these days how many are still using other car's light clusters when I would presume making your own LED set up must be pretty cheap these days... even the Lotus Elise now has LED lamps, which I believe are original items produced for the Elise.

TVR used to employ a clever trick in the early Griffith and Chimera models, which IIRC used Ford Fiesta taillights, though they were hidden beneath smoked covers to make it less obvious

Whooooooh--wait just a minute here, boys. Why the assumption that Noble is using Kia's lights?! I'm sure what happened is, in their push to add some pizzazz to the brand, Kia sought out some sporty-looking lights and liked what they saw on the Noble. Really.

Actually, for the original lotus, they used the tail lights off of a 1974 and newer fiat X-19 here are some pics for comparison.. Im not sure where they get the latest lights from. I like this comparison stuff. JJ

Lamborghini used Nissan 300ZX headlights on Diablo's. There are many Diablo's with a carbon fiber strip at the top of the head light shich covers the Nissan name and logo on the light. I'm sure it was a cost saving measure not to have to prouce and manufacture their own. Tail lights are probably cheaper to produce, but if another company makes one that fits the car, it is probably cheaper to buy than make.

You're retarded. The point is exclusivity or lack thereof.
