What do you call the trunk on a Ferrari? Engine hood? Seems that hood and trunk are too ordinary, but I have seen it called both. Other terms are Bonnet and Deck Lid?

Good question. Although several are saying "boot" or "bonnet," these are terms you'd use for a British car, not necessarily an Italian one. Time to check the manual . . .

Edit: Looks like the winner is . . . "luggage compartment." At the other end of the car is an "engine compartment." Both are closed with "lids."

Just a slang term derived from adding "front" & "trunk" together. Frunk. :)

In the 360 owner's manual the terms used are "engine compartment lid" and "luggage compartment bonnet".

Well, dusted the old Oxford Diccy off. According to that, it goes as follows.

Bonnet (Car): The hinged metal canopy covering the engine of a motor vehicle.
Boot (Car): An enclosed space of a car for carrying luggage or other goods.

It has nothing to do with whether it's in the front or back.

    Bonnet/Hood = Engine compartment lid
Boot/Trunk lid = Luggage compartment lid.

I trust the Oxford before I trust Ferrari's translators;)

...but I'll still go with what Ferrari says as it's their car and, as I said before, not British. Maybe that dictionary says an elevator is a "lift," but I'm still gonna call it an elevator.

Tesla refers to the front trunk on the Model S as "The Frunk".
