Want to keep the 430 looking mint yet I hate the old style wax. Any recommendations what would be quick, easy to use and yields great results? Thanks!!

I still use mothers carnuba as a base, maguiars quick detailer kinda constantly in between. I just don't want a heavy chemical wax. Don't want to inhale it.

I'm using SwissVax since many years and I'm very happy with their different products. They are quite expensive but they last a long time. All products are handmade. I met the CEO of SwissVax and this guy really knows his stuff. The results are excellent and I need to wax entirely the car only 1 or 2 times per year.

The F430 is so small and low it does not really matter what wax you use, none of them should be "hard". If it is hard maybe you are applying it on too thick, or in sunlight, or not letting it fully dry before buffing.

One trick I have used to get the was on thin is to use my un-gloved finger tips to spread on the wax. Just let it melt in your hand for a few seconds and it will glide right on. You will be able to feel the spread and tell if you get even the smallest grain of sand/dirt on your fingers well before you introduce tiny scratches. Where using a pad you are more likely to have thick spots of wax and heaven help you if a bit of sand gets on the pad! (I live a few feet from the beach in Florida, so sand is a real car wash hazard).

Wax? Many are good, you can try Chemical Guys 50/50 Limited Series Concourse Paste Wax, or Blitz wax (much cheaper). I stay away from the spray on stuff, synthetic miracle stuff, or the buff-free wax.

I use Optimum Car Wax (a spray wax/sealant). They claim 5 month durability, but applying a coat is so easy that it's almost irrelevant. Plus, it looks great. I usually give my car a coat every second or third wash. It literally takes minutes...spray a little on the finish, wipe/spread with a microfiber towel, flip the towel and wipe/buff dry. It's as easy as using a quick detailer.

Of course, you'll get the best results if your paint is clean and polished, otherwise you may get some streaking. However, that's the case with almost any wax or sealant.

I use zymol concourse, very pleased. I single jar is $150, however I get 15 wax applications per jar. The trick is a very thin layer. You apply it with your hands... I get to touch the car without my wife thinking I am a pervert :).

I used P21s wax on my DD but switched and got better results with Black Magic. I know, it comes in a bottle and isn't really wax. But the shine was better than I got with anything else. I haven't used it on my 360. Is there a reason not to?

My current favorite is Dodo Juice Supernatural (Hybrid). The hybrid combines the ease/durability of a sealant with the warmth and depth of a wax. If you want to go all out use the Supernatural pure wax. The only drawback is that it costs $200 but when you're dealing with a Ferrari cost should be a secondary factor.

I used to use Zymol. It looks awesome but it doesn't last very long. You basically have to rewax within 2 weeks.

On my M5, I use Blackfire Wet Diamond -- a liquid sealant that is very popular in the detail community. I would say this is the easiest to apply (its a liquid), longest lasting approach.

Swissvax, P21 and the rest mentioned above are all great waxes. Technique and cleaning are very important to get that last 10% when waxing.

Really. A dozen responses and all different. It's very clear to the OP now.

I use P21S....in case you're wondering. Wipe on and buff off with no chalky, hardened paste to annoy you. That may be 2 votes for it now.

Hey guys, my first job at 16 was detailing cars at the Acura dealership. Over the years I have used many different waxes and polishes. In the early '90s I used polymer based aircraft wax on my cars. Now you can get lots of different polymer waxes made for cars. I like swissvax and also zymol. Both are very good and easy to apply. My number one rule is smell it, if it smells harsh it probably isn't good for your paint!

What do you use, btw, for clear bras? Same stuff you use on the paint?

I am a big fan of Zaino products
I use Z2 for initial wax then follow up with Z6 and a quick spritz of Z8 and your car will gleam.

Depending on my mood, I use Griot's Best of Show Wax, their purple Canuaba Wax Stick, Speed Shine, Maguiar's Quick Detailer, Dodo orange and red, Zaino Brothers Z2 and Z5, a wax whose name escapes me that they used on high voltage electrical ceramics, Zymol Atlantique, Sonus and, oh yeah, both of the Klass formulas of sealants........ I have WAY too many wax products in my cabinets. Good thing I'm not indecisive though.

Excellent suggestion! I even have a can of it, as that's what I use for my spider's rear "window." It never occurred to me to use it on the clear bra.

Generally, carnuba waxes will provide a killer deep wet look. Synthetic/polymer waxes will look good but last quite a bit longer. Pinnacle Souveran is a great looking wax, but doesn't hold up after too many washes. I'd use a detail after each wash too prolong the life. (Do it even if you don't use Souveran.) Meguiars Hi Tec Yellow # 24 or 26 (can't remember right now and I'm writing this on my blackberry in an airport) is another good looking carnuba wax and pretty cheap too. Rejex is a synthetic that lasts quite a long time. All of these are liquids and are easy to apply and wipe off. Mothers Syn Wax is a synthetic that easy on easy off as well. Some people buy into the boutique waxes. Some are great, some are crap. But like joba said, the most important part is the paint correction. That will provide 95% of the outcome in the paint. 5% will be from the wax.

+1 been using this stuff for years since the porsche club recommended it to me (I have used it on my non-daily driver sports cars- it's not going to work well for a car that's used daily and/or non-garaged, but that is almost never the case with ferraris)
