Mr. Giorgio, It is obvious the lock down in CA is taking it toll on you and perhaps (Mr?) LGS. Having said that, lets look back a bit at the time line and where all came to a standstill, until you (and your side kick?) LGS decided it was time to revisit this thread with absolutely nothing to provide, again. You left us with "All in due time..." Well, seeing as how you are back what have you? It must be the "due time" correct? You've been asked for the dress on a few occasions and you have not provided it. Please do so now or I will have to put you on ignore. Thanks in advance.
Not a 512 but a 206 which had received a special body for research purposes, it did not get much use, no racing at all IIRC, sold by RM in recent years. It used to be owned for a very long time by a peculiar chap who brought it to the FCA national meet in Columbus Ohio in 1995, I spoke to him about doing an article but he wanted to control the history, I tried to explain no one owns history or the facts but no go...it can only be in better ownership now.
That movie sequence was filmed at Autofficina Sport Auto, Diena & Silingardi, at Via Toscanini in Modena (formerly the building of Carrozzeria Gran Sport in the early/mid-60s). It is Dino 206 S Spider #028 which I purchased (on behalf of a client) 10 May 2014 at the RM auction in Monaco, Lot #143. It has since been fully restored to original 206 S Spider configuration with a new body by Carrozzeria Egidio Brandoli and was shown at Pebble Beach 26 August 2018. It has nothing to do with a 512 S/M or a 312 P(B). Marcel Massini
Marcel, at 6:52 in- when the 312 PB shells are shown, I assume that's still the factory, before they were sent to Sport Auto?
Yes, taken after the 1st September 1974 where 13715 raced at the Coppa Intereuropa, VII Trofeo E. Mattei, in Monza, by Massimo De Antoni and Giovanni Vasari, entered by Bleu Team. 13715 was originally a standard road car converted 1971 by two ex-Ferrari factory mechanics William Sala and Giovanni Marverti in Maranello into a Group 4 competition version. Now, please let's go back to the 512 S/M race cars. (There's a separate thread about the Swedish movie in the "General Forum, Ferrari Discussion" section). https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1974-swedish-ferrari-factory-visit.620595/ Marcel Massini
Looks like they rolled out the red carpet for John G’s immaculate 512 s. 2011 Americana Concourse d’Elegance. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mr. p gio, We all know you try to defend something that is (apparently) impossible to proof. If your words are correct, you really need evidence. This game is going on since several months. The back and forth, is comprehensable, from your point of view. But this thread, which is generally a delight for any 512 S/M enthousiast, is becoming a place to stay away. The atmosphere in this thread is going down, because you contineously contradict the generally accepted point of view concerning #1004. Once again, provide the evidence, show proof of what you claim is correct, nobody will object, on the contrary. But please, don't spoil this thread by mocking and ridiculising people who are highly respected Ferrari historians, specialists in the field. It would be appreciated if you could keep the level of this thread cordial and friendly.
Mr. The Strad: As I have a difference of opinion regarding a particular car and the legitimacy of its certification, I have been attacked for being outspoken. I have been baited, and ridiculed. It is apparent that you do not understand all of the nuances and particulars that are involved in a serious matter such as this, and have continually demanded proof from me in order to validate my statements. Proof and the like is beyond an on line chat. As you are a free thinker, that is your choice to place all of your faith in one person, but I will not. Humans are fallible, among other things. You have requested that I remain cordial on more than one occasion, however, if you look at the past several postings of yours, they are negatively and antagonistically directed at me- without personal provocation. You are right, none of this has anything to do with Ferrari and more specifically a 512 S. If you don't like my posts, you should take your advice that you gave the other day, and "ignore" me. - Pete
Some more vintage pictures of the 512 S. Sorry for the poor quality.
