Just wondering why Black Horse motors (..I could be wrong on the name..), located on La Cienega Blvd, LA has been closed? I noticed over the past year or so his inventory was dwindling, and now is closed. Any info?

It could have been the Dealer Buy Back Policy, reference the other thread about it, in this section.

There are (were) actually two businesses at that location. Blackhorse is a repair shop owned by Carl Styer (sic?), a well-respected Ferrari mechanic. They do both modern and classic cars. Carl knows the vintage cars very well and has done a few big-ticket full-on restorations (maybe more than a few, I don't know), so you can trust your vintage 12 with him (and there's nothing about a 308/328 that he doesn't know). One day there were 5 (!) Dinos in there, including an engine rebuild. But it seems like most of their business is with the newer cars.

The other business was a car dealership called "Black on Black" (I think that's the name). Unfortunately (for Blackhorse), the dealership business had some reputation issues and as far as I know they're now out of business, and like most exotic car dealerships that go out of business, is shutting the doors with a bit of drama (bad deals, or accusations of bad deals). The two businesses were not connected to each other on any ownership level, but because of the shared building, a lot of people think they are the same business.

Carl's #2 guy at Blackhorse, Chris, was planning to take over the showroom space and get into the car sales business – I haven't been there in a few months so I don't know of that's still the plan.

I've had both my 365 and 308 at Blackhorse for various repairs/maintenance with no complaint on quality of work or cost of service. They can, however, get backed up so get a firm, mutual agreement of when you need your car back if you're in a hurry (that being said, I've had my car in and out in one day).

Full disclosure: the Blackhorse guys are not my buddies, I get work done at other shops in town as well, I also have no personal axe to grind with the dealership, so I'm being totally objective here.
